Anaheim sits where the 5, the 91, and the 57 all cross, and the spot where the 5 meets the 57 and 22 is the one locals call the Orange Crush. It backs up hard at peak hours. Add a Ducks night at the Honda Center, an Angels game at Angel Stadium, or a big show like NAMM or WonderCon at the Convention Center, and the streets around Katella and the Resort get slow in a hurry. We watch the event calendar when we book Resort and Platinum Triangle jobs, and we'll often suggest an early start so the truck is loaded before the crowds hit. What to know before your Anaheim move

A few local details that make move day smoother. Some of these are your job to set up, and we coordinate the rest.

Permits and street parking

Anaheim restricts oversized vehicles, generally anything over 22 feet, from parking on residential streets, but the city carves out temporary loading and unloading for residential moves and runs a placard system for it. If your street is tight or permit-zoned, you'll want to arrange a temporary no-parking spot so the truck can sit close. That application is yours to file with the City of Anaheim Public Works, reachable at (714) 765-5183, and online requests are typically processed within a couple of business days. Commercial and building access

Moving into or out of an apartment, condo, or office near the Resort, Platinum Triangle, or Downtown? Those buildings often have a freight elevator to reserve, a loading dock to book, and a certificate of insurance the property manager wants on file before move day. Reserving the elevator, booking the dock, and confirming the building's COI requirements are your job as the tenant, but we coordinate the timing and bring the standard COI that's included on commercial moves. Send us the building rules and the access window early, and we'll line the crew up to hit it without burning your reserved elevator slot.

Event traffic and Anaheim Hills gates

This is Anaheim's signature wrinkle. The Resort and Platinum Triangle sit right next to Disneyland, Angel Stadium, the Honda Center, and the Convention Center, so a game, a concert, or a big expo like NAMM can choke Katella and the streets around the 5 and 57. We check the event calendar and often start early to beat it. Up in Anaheim Hills it's a different challenge: gated tracts with narrow winding roads, no sidewalks in spots, and HOAs that want gate clearance and sometimes a COI before a truck enters. Clearing the gate and HOA is your call to make, and we'll coordinate the entry and bring the smallest truck that fits.

Older Colony homes and apartments

The Anaheim Colony Historic District holds the city's oldest housing, Craftsman and Victorian homes from the early 1900s on the original 1857 colony lots. They're charming and they're tight: narrow driveways, skinny doorways, steep porch steps, and street parking that fills early. Older apartments around Downtown can mean stairs and no elevator too. We bring the 18-foot box truck, our smallest, for these because a 26-foot simply can't fit some of these lots. A heads-up on doorway widths and stair counts lets us plan how we'll carry a sofa, sectional, or dresser out without scratching original trim or your floors.

Best days and times to move

If you can pick your date, a midweek morning in the off-season is the easiest move in Anaheim. Summer, roughly June through August, is our busiest run because families move on the school calendar to land before the fall term, and those weekend slots book out first. Near the Resort, try to dodge days with a stadium event or a Convention Center show, since the traffic spills into the side streets. Early starts help everywhere: cooler weather, lighter roads, and more daylight if the job runs long. Book a few weeks ahead for summer dates and we'll lock in the crew and truck you need.

The HOA needed gate clearance, which the homeowners arranged, and the winding hillside road meant we brought the 18-foot truck, our smallest, since a 26-foot couldn't make the turns.
