Adept Moving is a California-licensed moving company (license MTR0190206) that has served Azusa since 1998, rated 5.0 on Google across over 2,000 reviews. Our yard sits on Vineland Avenue in North Hollywood, about 28 to 32 miles west, so we usually run the 134 to the 210 east through Pasadena and the Foothill corridor, then exit at Azusa Avenue, Citrus, or Vernon. We've loaded out of the Craftsman bungalows in Old Town, the controlled-access student apartments near Azusa Pacific University, the gated canyon streets of Mountain Cove, the master-planned blocks of Rosedale, and offices along the Route 66 frontage on Foothill Boulevard. Our rate starts at $99/hr for a two-mover crew, cash, with regular cargo insurance included. The truck fee's separate. No fuel surcharge, and no hidden fees at the end. Double drive time applies and is advised on the written quote before move day. We carry an A+ rating at the BBB.

What we know about moving in Azusa

    Who's moving here

Most of our Azusa work ties back to Azusa Pacific University and the apartment stock around it. Students and renters cycle through the controlled-access buildings near APU and the Gold Line station, where the loading window sets the pace of the day. Homeowners keep us busy too, in the older Old Town bungalows south of Foothill, in the tightly packed 1940s and 1950s tracts down by Hollyvale, and in the newer master-planned homes out in Rosedale and the gated canyon streets of Mountain Cove. Add a steady run of small offices, retail tenants, and light-industrial businesses along Foothill Boulevard, Azusa Avenue, and Arrow Highway. We handle Azusa as part of our Los Angeles moving services, out of North Hollywood, the same as the rest of the eastern San Gabriel Valley. After enough years the patterns repeat. A student trades a dorm for a first apartment. A family moves up from an Old Town bungalow to a Rosedale two-story, or an office shifts a few blocks along Foothill. We do a lot of those.

How the streets shape a move

Azusa isn't one kind of street. Old Town, south of Foothill, runs older single-family blocks with narrow lots, short driveways, and mature street trees, so the truck usually stages at the curb rather than pulling up the drive. The Hollyvale tracts south of the 210 pack 1940s and 1950s homes tight on small lots, with industrial loading and active truck traffic on Arrow Highway and Gladstone Street. Downtown, the Azusa Avenue and San Gabriel Avenue one-way couplet runs metered, time-limited curb parking and at-grade rail crossings, which tightens loading space for retail and office moves. Head north and the ground rises toward San Gabriel Canyon, where Mountain Cove's gated streets bring grade and a single winding approach into it. We bring the truck that actually fits. Our 18-foot box truck is the smallest we run, and it's what we send when a 26-foot truck can't make the turn into a narrow Old Town driveway or a tight canyon street.

    Timing and access

Move day in Azusa goes smoother when access is sorted ahead of time. At a controlled-access apartment near Azusa Pacific University, the management office usually wants a loading window arranged and, where there's an elevator, that reserved, so we coordinate our arrival once you've set it up. Mountain Cove and Rosedale need the gated entry and any HOA move rules handled in advance, and we plan the canyon approach or the community access points around them. Older Old Town blocks get curbside staging, since the driveways run narrow and the street trees are mature. Downtown on the Azusa Avenue couplet, the metered, time-limited curb and the at-grade rail crossings push us to sequence the load to work inside the window. Plenty of our Azusa moves run a short hop, east to Glendora on Foothill and Alosta, or south to Covina and West Covina on Azusa Avenue. We time those legs around rush hour and the I-210 congestion to keep the drive between locations short. All of it gets talked through in the written quote, so there's no guessing on the day.

    Why Azusa picks Adept

Licensed since 1998, with a rate that's plain to read and a crew that knows the San Gabriel Valley.

    5.0 with over 2,000 reviews

We hold a 5.0 on Google across over 2,000 verified reviews, plus a 5.0 on Yelp with 2,900-plus. That track record is the thing we're proudest of.

    From $99/hr, two movers

Our rate is $99 per hour for a two-mover crew, cash. Regular cargo insurance is included, the truck fee's separate, and there's no fuel surcharge.

    No hidden fees

What's in the written quote is what you pay. No surprise add-ons at the curb, and double drive time is advised on the quote up front.

    Licensed and insured

We're California-licensed, MTR0190206, with an A+ rating at the BBB. The paperwork's real, and we're happy to show it.

The right truck for the block

Our 18-foot box truck is the smallest we run, made for narrow Old Town driveways and tight canyon streets. The 26-foot is our standard for bigger loads.

    Local since 1998

We've worked out of North Hollywood since 1998, about 28 to 32 miles from Azusa. These tracts, apartment corridors, and canyon streets aren't new to us.

    What we move in Azusa

    Local Moving in Azusa

    Local Moving in Azusa

House, condo, or apartment, we handle Azusa local moves from $99/hr for a two-mover crew, with regular cargo insurance included. We wrap furniture in moving blankets and bubble wrap, lay floor runners on your floors, and bring dollies and wardrobe cartons. Got an upright or baby grand piano, a gun safe, fine art, antiques, or a home gym? Tell us up front so we plan for it. Double drive time on the run between your pickup and drop-off is advised on the written quote before move day.

    Commercial moves in Azusa

    Commercial moves in Azusa

We move offices and small businesses along the Foothill Boulevard, Azusa Avenue, and Arrow Highway corridors, including retail, professional, and light-industrial tenants. That's desks, files, conference setups, and office equipment, worked at our hourly rate with a two-mover crew. For buildings that ask for a certificate of insurance, a standard general-liability COI is included for commercial jobs, and if you need custom additional-insured wording, we quote that separately. Metered, time-limited curb parking and at-grade rail crossings are common downtown, so you handle the building access rules, and we coordinate the timing and sequence the load so your move lands in its window.

    Packing and unpacking in Azusa

    Packing and unpacking in Azusa

Want help boxing up? Our crew packs and unpacks at the hourly rate, and disposable packing materials and supplies are billed separately, not folded into the $99. We bring moving blankets, bubble wrap, dollies, and wardrobe cartons, and we can do a full pack or just the kitchen and the breakables while you handle the rest. Packing labor isn't a flat quote. It's the same hourly crew time as the move. Tell us how much you want done and we'll give you a realistic read in the written quote, so the day doesn't run long on surprises.

What to know before you move in Azusa

A few local details that keep move day smooth, from permits to canyon access.

    Permits and street rules

    Permits and street rules

On most Azusa blocks, parking the truck at the curb is straightforward. But downtown, along the Azusa Avenue and San Gabriel Avenue one-way couplet, the curb runs metered and time-limited, and on the older Old Town streets the lots are narrow, so a reserved curb space can save a long carry. The City of Azusa Public Works Department, Engineering Division, sits in the Azusa Light and Water Building at 729 North Azusa Avenue, and Public Works Inspections at 626-812-5230 can tell you what applies to a moving truck on your block. Whether Azusa requires a dedicated permit for moving-truck curb staging, as opposed to a general right-of-way encroachment, is worth confirming with the city directly, since the rules can vary block to block. If your street is narrow or the curb is metered, we'd call the city before move day, because a posted no-parking spot in front of the door changes the rhythm of the load. Pulling the permit and posting it is your job, not ours, but we'll tell you exactly where the truck needs to sit so you can request the right spot. On the tight downtown and Old Town streets, that reserved curb space is the difference between a short carry and hauling half a block.

    APU and apartment access

    APU and apartment access

The student and multifamily apartment buildings near Azusa Pacific University and the APU/Citrus College station usually come with controlled-access entries, shared elevators or stairwells, and limited on-site parking, so coordinating with management is part of the day. The building office typically wants a loading window arranged and, where there's an elevator, that reserved ahead of time, and setting up that window is yours to handle with management, not ours. We don't book the elevator or hold the lobby for you, but once you've got the window set, we coordinate our arrival to it. On site, we pad the elevator car where there is one, protect the shared corridors and stairwells, run the load on dollies, and keep it moving so we clear the slot before it closes. This gets tight during the late-August and September academic move-in, when half the building is turning over at once. If management asks for a certificate of insurance, a standard general-liability COI is included for commercial jobs, and custom additional-insured wording is quoted separately. Tell us the building's rules when you ask for your quote, and we'll plan the crew start so the move fits the access window.

    Canyon and hillside access

    Canyon and hillside access

Most of Azusa sits on flat valley floor, but the north end rises into the foothills at the mouth of San Gabriel Canyon, and that's where access gets real. The gated Mountain Cove community is reached by a single winding canyon approach near San Gabriel Canyon Road, with tight hillside-adjacent streets and a controlled entry that has to be coordinated before the crew rolls up. Rosedale, built on reclaimed former nursery and quarry land, has more generous street widths but still sits on hillside-adjacent terrain with HOA rules and gated community access points. On the canyon streets, a 26-foot truck can't always make the turns or the grade, so we bring our 18-foot box truck, the smallest we run, when the big one won't fit. We don't run a shuttle service, so on a tight canyon street we'd recommend you walk the approach and the entry yourself before move day to confirm the truck can reach the door and the larger pieces will clear. Coordinate the gate and any HOA move window ahead of time, tell us about the approach when you book, and we'll send the right truck and plan the carry around it.

Older Old Town and Hollyvale homes

Older Old Town and Hollyvale homes

Azusa adopted a historic preservation ordinance back in 2001, but the city's used it lightly, with just one designated landmark and no formal historic districts on the books. Even so, plenty of our residential work runs through genuinely old housing stock. Old Town, south of Foothill near downtown, carries early-1900s through 1930s Craftsman and California bungalows and Spanish Colonial Revival homes on narrow lots. South of the 210, the Hollyvale tracts run 1940s and 1950s mid-century homes, packed tight on small lots. These older houses come with narrow doorways, vintage staircases, built-in millwork, and tight stairwells, so a wide sofa or sectional sometimes takes a careful angle. Other times we take a door off the hinges, or break down a bed frame to get it clear. We pad the staircases and built-in cabinetry on the way out, lay floor runners on the floors, and wrap furniture in moving blankets and bubble wrap to protect the trim and the corners. We don't pre-measure on a site visit, so it helps to tell us the doorway and stairwell situation ahead of time. Flag any vintage or built-in pieces, along with anything heavy or awkward, when you ask for the quote.

    Best days and times

    Best days and times

Azusa traffic keys off the I-210 Foothill Freeway, the main regional through-route, where eastbound delays build through the Pasadena, Arcadia, and Monrovia corridor before they reach the city. Downtown circulation runs the one-way couplet, northbound on Azusa Avenue and southbound on San Gabriel Avenue, and the at-grade Metro A Line crossings near the Azusa Downtown and APU/Citrus College stations drop the gates and stall traffic on no schedule you can plan around. On weekends, recreation traffic heading up San Gabriel Canyon Road toward the reservoirs and Crystal Lake spikes northbound flow on Azusa Avenue, so a mid-morning weekday start, after the early crush clears, usually keeps the drive between your two locations short and the hourly clock honest. Weekdays are also easier at the APU apartment buildings, where elevators and loading spots are simpler to arrange midweek than on a packed Saturday. Moves here peak in summer, June through August, with the school calendar and lease turnover, and then again from late August into September with the university move-in, so those dates fill faster. The best availability tends to land mid-week and mid-month. We'll talk timing through when we put your written quote together, so the start time matches your access.

Max & Alex are the best movers. They showed up exactly on time and brought any supplies that you may need. They took a lot of care with all my belongings and were super helpful packing up boxes. They took apart my king bed and reassembled it perfectly. They even fixed a loose bolt leaving the bed in better condition than when they arrived. Not a scratch or a ding on anything!...

Not gonna lie after all the quotes I got I was a little skeptical with how affordable their rate was (but I was desperate to save some money haha). But they were amazing! Vladimir and Alik were my 2 men and they handled everything carefully and delicately and like they’ve been doing it forever. They’ve got it down to a science. Nothing damaged or scratched or scuffed or anything and very helpful and communicative. Will def be using them if I ever need to move here again.

After our first movers could not finish the job, I contacted Adept and they fit us in at a very busy time. Our two movers were hardworking and funny and really took care of our belongings. Their rate was much less than our first movers, who did not take great care of our things. I highly recommend Adept Movers.

    APU apartment, 91702

We moved a studio-to-one-bedroom out of a controlled-access apartment near Azusa Pacific University during the academic move-in stretch. The building had limited on-site parking and a shared entry, so the tenant arranged the loading window with management ahead of time, and we coordinated our arrival to it. We protected the shared corridors and stairwells, ran the load on dollies to keep it moving while half the building was turning over, and wrapped the furniture in moving blankets and bubble wrap. Their new place sat close by, a short drive between the two. A two-mover crew, hourly, with the cargo insurance already included.

    Rosedale two-story home, 91702

A whole-home move out of a two-story house in the master-planned Rosedale community, 91702. We worked within the HOA move guidelines and the community access points, and since the larger furniture had to come down from the upper floor, the crew padded the stair runs and the built-ins on the way out. The streets out there run wider than the old tracts, so staging the truck was straightforward. We wrapped the dressers, the sectional, and the bed frame in moving blankets and bubble wrap, and laid floor runners through the entry and up the stairs. A three-mover crew, hourly, with regular cargo insurance included.

    Rosedale, 91702

    Downtown Azusa office, 91702

A small professional office relocating along the downtown Azusa Avenue corridor, 91702, needed its suite shifted nearby. We moved desks, file cabinets, and the office equipment, all at our hourly rate with a two-mover crew. The curb frontage was metered and time-limited and an at-grade rail crossing sat close by, so we sequenced the packed file and equipment loads to work inside the available curb space and kept the crew moving. The two suites sat close together, a short drive between them. Their new building asked for a certificate of insurance, and the standard general-liability COI we include for commercial jobs covered it. Back up and running without losing much of the workday.

    Azusa Moving FAQs

    Azusa-specific questions

Our rate starts at $99/hr for a two-mover crew, paid in cash, with regular cargo insurance included. The truck fee is separate, and there's no fuel surcharge or hidden fees. Double drive time applies and is advised on the written quote before move day. We put the whole estimate in writing so you know what to expect.

We don't currently offer same-day moves. A good move takes planning, the right truck for your block, and a crew scheduled ahead, and we'd rather set it up properly than rush it. Reach out as early as you can and we'll get you a written quote and a date that works. Even a few days' notice helps us send the right truck for a narrow Old Town driveway or a gated canyon street in Mountain Cove.

On most Azusa blocks, no, but downtown along the Azusa Avenue couplet or on a tight Old Town street, a reserved curb space saves a long carry. The City of Azusa Public Works Department handles work in the public right-of-way, and you can reach Public Works Inspections at 626-812-5230 to ask what applies. Pulling the permit and posting it is your job, but we'll tell you where we need the truck to sit so you can request the right spot.

It depends on your load and your access. Our 26-foot truck is the standard for bigger moves. Our 18-foot box truck is the smallest we run, and it's the one we send for the narrow Old Town driveways and the tight canyon streets up by Mountain Cove, where a 26-foot truck can't make the turn. Tell us your address and how much you're moving, and we'll size the truck before move day.

Yes. Our crew packs and unpacks at the hourly rate, and disposable packing materials and supplies are billed separately, not included in the $99. We bring boxes, packing paper, bubble wrap, and wardrobe cartons. We also handle specialty pieces like upright and baby grand pianos, gun safes, fine art, antiques, and home gyms, so let us know up front and we'll plan the crew and equipment around them.

Yes. We're licensed by the California Bureau of Household Goods and Services, license number MTR0190206, and BBB-accredited with an A+ rating. Regular cargo insurance is included on every move at no extra charge. For commercial moves, a standard COI with general liability is included; custom additional-insured wording is quoted separately.

    General questions

It's hourly, starting at $99/hr for a two-mover crew, cash, with regular cargo insurance included. The truck fee is billed separately. Double drive time applies and is advised on the moving quote. No fuel surcharge, no hidden fees. We put the hourly rate in writing before you book, so there's nothing to guess at on the day.

A clean 5.0 on Google across more than 2,000 reviews comes down to a few habits: a clear written quote before you book, uniformed and background-checked crews, regular cargo insurance on every job, and no pressure afterward. Plenty of movers chase volume. We'd rather earn the next job by referral, and the reviews are what come out of that.

For a mid-week, mid-month date, a week's notice is usually plenty. Weekends, the end of the month, and the summer stretch from June through August fill up faster, so give it two to three weeks if you can. We don't currently offer same-day moves, so it's worth getting on the calendar early either way.

Life happens. Reach out as early as you can and we'll work with you to find the next open slot that fits. The sooner you let us know, the easier it is to move the crew around.
