Adept Moving has run out of North Hollywood since 1998, California-licensed (MTR0190206) and rated 5.0 on Google across over 2,000 reviews. Redondo Beach is a South Bay coastal job for us, roughly 20 to 26 miles southwest of our Vineland Avenue yard. We take US-101 to the I-405 south, ride it through the Sepulveda Pass and past LAX, then cut to the water at Inglewood Avenue, Artesia Boulevard, or PCH. Over the years we've loaded the narrow beach cottages in the Avenues west of PCH, the oceanfront condos along the Esplanade, the hillside homes of the Hollywood Riviera on the Palos Verdes line, and the packed townhomes of North Redondo. The rate starts from $99/hr for a two-mover crew, cash, regular cargo insurance included. The truck fee is separate, no fuel surcharge, nothing hidden at the end. Double drive time applies and is advised on the moving quote, and we hold an A+ with the BBB.

Serving Redondo Beach from North Hollywood

Our yard sits on Vineland Avenue in North Hollywood, roughly 20 to 26 miles northeast of Redondo Beach. We run US-101 to the I-405 south through the Sepulveda Pass and the LAX area, then cut to the coast at Inglewood Avenue, Artesia Boulevard, or Pacific Coast Highway. That covers every part of the city: the Avenues and the beach blocks west of PCH, the Esplanade and King Harbor oceanfront, the Hollywood Riviera hillside, and the dense townhome tracts of North Redondo.

What we know about moving in Redondo Beach

    Who's moving here

Most of our Redondo Beach work splits between the beach side and the inland tracts. In the Avenues near the sand, west of Pacific Coast Highway, we move cottage and small-lot homeowners and renters, and on those narrow older streets the job comes down to curb staging and a hand-carry. The oceanfront picks up around the Esplanade and King Harbor, where condo and townhome residents live behind controlled access and we work to an elevator and a loading dock. The Hollywood Riviera, up on the Palos Verdes border, is hillside single-family territory on steep, winding streets. North Redondo is different again: townhome and condo owners in the dense R2 and R3 developments, where shared driveways and tandem garages keep the truck off the door. Commercial jobs come through Riviera Village, the PCH corridor, and the Artesia and Aviation retail strip. We handle Redondo Beach as part of our Los Angeles moving services, running it out of North Hollywood with the rest of the South Bay coast. A lot of it is a household trading an Avenues cottage for more room in North Redondo, or a short hop north to Hermosa Beach.

How the streets shape a move

Redondo Beach comes in two halves, and they move differently. South Redondo runs from the beach cottages of the Avenues up onto the Hollywood Riviera hillside, so you get narrow walk-street blocks near the sand and steep, winding grades on the Palos Verdes border in the same trip. The Avenues, west of PCH between the highway and Catalina Avenue, are a tight grid of older streets with short driveways or none, so a truck stages at the curb and the crew carries in. Up in the Riviera, the streets switchback and the driveways pitch, and a 26-foot truck often can't make the turn, so our 18-foot box truck, the smallest we run, does the work. North Redondo is flatter but no simpler: the R2 and R3 townhome tracts pack multiple units onto shared driveways with tandem or subterranean garages, and the interior streets run narrow with permit-parking blocks. Along the Esplanade, the oceanfront buildings sit on a coastal bluff with controlled access and tight curb frontage. Two neighboring streets here can call for a different truck and a different parking plan.

    Timing and access

A Redondo Beach move goes easier when the access is nailed down first. At the oceanfront buildings on the Esplanade and around King Harbor, building management sets the elevator and loading-dock window, so once you've booked it we time our arrival to match. Curb staging is the plan in the Avenues and the beach blocks west of PCH, where the driveways are short, the streets are tight, and summer beach parking eats into whatever curb space is left. In the Hollywood Riviera we ask you to walk the access before the day, since the grade and the turning room decide what the crew can do. Along PCH and through Riviera Village, the metered, time-limited curb parking means we sequence the load to fit it. PCH backs up on summer weekends and holidays, and the 190th Street neck between the two halves of the city gets tight, so we time the legs around the crush. A lot of these moves are a short coastal hop, north to Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach or south toward Torrance. Double drive time applies and is advised on the moving quote.

    Why Redondo Beach picks Adept

Licensed since 1998, with a rate that's plain to read and a crew that knows the South Bay beach blocks and the Riviera hillside.

    5.0 with over 2,000 reviews

A 5.0 on Google across over 2,000 verified reviews, built one move at a time. If a new Redondo Beach customer wants a reason to trust us, we start there.

    From $99/hr, two movers

Our rate is $99 per hour for a two-mover crew, cash. Regular cargo insurance is included, the truck fee's separate, and there's no fuel surcharge.

    No hidden fees

What's in the written quote is what you pay. No surprise add-ons at the curb, and double drive time is advised on the moving quote up front.

    Licensed and insured

We're California-licensed, MTR0190206, with an A+ rating at the BBB. The paperwork's real, and we're glad to show it.

The right truck for the hill

Our 18-foot box truck is the smallest we run, made for the Riviera grades and the narrow Avenues blocks. The 26-foot is our standard for bigger loads.

    Local since 1998

We've worked out of North Hollywood since 1998, a 20-to-26-mile run down to Redondo Beach. The beach cottages, the oceanfront buildings, the Riviera hills, we've handled all of it for years.

What we move in Redondo Beach

    Local Moving in Redondo Beach

    Local Moving in Redondo Beach

House, cottage, condo, or apartment, we handle Redondo Beach local moves from $99/hr for a two-mover crew, with regular cargo insurance included. We wrap furniture in moving blankets and bubble wrap, lay floor runners on your floors, and bring dollies and wardrobe cartons. If you've got an upright or baby grand piano, a gun safe, fine art, antiques, or a home gym, tell us up front so we plan for it. Double drive time applies and is advised on the moving quote.

    Commercial moves in Redondo Beach

    Commercial moves in Redondo Beach

We move retail, restaurants, and small offices in Riviera Village, along the PCH corridor, and in the Artesia and Aviation commercial strip, plus the waterfront spaces around King Harbor and the Redondo Pier. That's desks, files, display fixtures, and office equipment, worked at our hourly rate with a two-mover crew. For buildings that ask for a certificate of insurance, a standard general-liability COI is included for commercial jobs, and if you need custom additional-insured wording, we quote that separately. Metered, time-limited curb parking and pedestrian traffic are the norm downtown, so you handle the building access rules and we coordinate the timing and sequence the load so your move lands in its window.

Packing and unpacking in Redondo Beach

Packing and unpacking in Redondo Beach

Our crew packs and unpacks at the hourly rate, and disposable packing materials and supplies are billed separately, not folded into the $99. We bring moving blankets, bubble wrap, dollies, and wardrobe cartons, and we can do a full pack or just the kitchen and the breakables while you take the rest. Packing labor is billed at the same hourly crew time as the move, not a separate flat quote. Tell us how much you want done and we'll give you a realistic read in the written quote.

What to know before you move in Redondo Beach

A few local details that keep move day smooth, from permits to hillside access.

    Permits and street rules

    Permits and street rules

On most Redondo Beach blocks, pulling the truck to the curb is simple, but in the beach-close Avenues west of PCH and along the Esplanade and Riviera Village, where curb frontage is tight and summer beach parking eats up the street, a reserved space near the door can save a long carry. The City of Redondo Beach Public Works Department runs permits through its Engineering Services Division at 415 Diamond Street, and encroachment and transportation permits for the public right-of-way are filed through the City's online Citizen Portal. Whether the city wants a dedicated permit for a moving truck at the curb, as opposed to a general encroachment permit for containers or trailers, is worth confirming with Engineering Services directly, and we couldn't pin down the processing window, so give them a few days' lead if your block is narrow or permit-restricted. Pulling the permit and posting the signs falls to you, not us, but we'll mark exactly where the truck has to sit so you can reserve the right spot. Oversize truck movement on PCH, State Route 1, is handled by Caltrans, separate from a city curb permit.

    Oceanfront buildings and downtown access

    Oceanfront buildings and downtown access

Two very different building types drive access in Redondo Beach: the oceanfront towers and the waterfront retail. Along the Esplanade and around King Harbor, condos and mid-rise buildings run controlled-access lobbies, designated loading zones, and elevator reservations, so the elevator and the dock window are yours to book with building management ahead of time, not ours to reserve. Once you've set that window, we coordinate our arrival to it, pad the entry, protect shared corridors and interior finishes, run the load on dollies, and keep it moving. Curb frontage on the Esplanade is limited and the coastal street stays busy, so large items often mean a hand-carry from the loading zone. In Riviera Village and along PCH, retail and restaurant spaces sit on metered, time-limited blocks with pedestrian-priority frontage, so those moves work inside short curb windows. If a building or HOA asks for a certificate of insurance, a standard general-liability COI is included for commercial jobs, and custom additional-insured wording is quoted separately. Tell us the building and HOA rules when you ask for your quote, and we'll set the crew start so the move fits the access window.

    Hollywood Riviera hillside access

    Hollywood Riviera hillside access

Nothing in Redondo Beach tests a crew like the Hollywood Riviera, up in the city's southwest corner on the Palos Verdes border. It climbs onto the peninsula on steep, winding, narrow streets with tight turning radii and grade-limited driveways, and many of the homes are two-story with the living space stacked above a garage. On a lot of those streets a 26-foot truck can't make the turn or hold the grade, so we bring our 18-foot box truck, the smallest we run, and position it on the grade with wheel chocks, then carry furniture down from the upper level and along the sloped driveway rather than backing to the door. We don't run a shuttle service or promise to drive any particular grade, so a pre-move walkthrough earns its keep here: we ask you to walk the access yourself before move day and tell us the carry distance, the driveway pitch, the stair runs, and whether a long truck can even turn around at the top. Flag the grade and the carry when you ask for your quote so we size the truck and crew for the hill.

    Beach cottages and dense townhomes

    Beach cottages and dense townhomes

Redondo Beach housing swings from old beach cottages to dense newer townhomes, and each one carries differently. In the Avenues west of PCH, early-to-mid-20th-century cottages and small-lot bungalows sit on narrow beach streets with short or no driveways, tight doorways, and vintage staircases. In North Redondo, the R2 and R3 tracts pack two- and three-on-a-lot townhomes onto shared driveways with tandem or subterranean garages, so the truck often parks at the street end of a common drive and the crew carries in from there. In the older cottages a wide sofa can need a careful tilt through the doorway, and now and then we take a door off its hinges or knock down a bed frame to get it out. A mattress won't fold, so we carry it flat and walk a box spring through on the diagonal. We pad the staircases and any built-in cabinetry, lay floor runners on the floors, and wrap furniture in moving blankets and bubble wrap. Redondo Beach doesn't run a formal historic district, so there's no preservation paperwork tied to a residential move here. We don't pre-measure on a site visit, so tell us the doorway and stairwell situation, and any vintage or oversized pieces, when you ask for the quote.

    Best days and times

    Best days and times

In Redondo Beach it all comes back to Pacific Coast Highway, the busiest arterial in town, which jams hard on summer weekends and holidays when King Harbor, the Redondo Pier, and the beach draw heavy visitor crowds. The narrow 190th Street and PCH neck between North and South Redondo concentrates cross-town traffic, and a drive from North Hollywood rides the I-405 through the Sepulveda Pass and the LAX area, which clogs at the usual commute peaks. Start mid-morning, after the early crush clears, and the drive between your two places usually stays short, so you're not paying for time stuck in traffic. Weekdays are quieter along the beach and at the oceanfront buildings, where elevator and loading-dock coordination goes smoother midweek than on a packed Saturday. Moves here peak in summer, June through August, with the Redondo Beach Unified School District calendar and condo and townhome lease turnover, the same stretch when beach-season parking pressure makes curb staging tightest in South Redondo. Those dates fill first, so the best availability lands mid-week and mid-month. We'll talk the timing through when we put your written quote together, so the start matches your access.

Max & Alex are the best movers. They showed up exactly on time and brought any supplies that you may need. They took a lot of care with all my belongings and were super helpful packing up boxes. They took apart my king bed and reassembled it perfectly. They even fixed a loose bolt leaving the bed in better condition than when they arrived. Not a scratch or a ding on anything!...

Not gonna lie after all the quotes I got I was a little skeptical with how affordable their rate was (but I was desperate to save some money haha). But they were amazing! Vladimir and Alik were my 2 men and they handled everything carefully and delicately and like they’ve been doing it forever. They’ve got it down to a science. Nothing damaged or scratched or scuffed or anything and very helpful and communicative. Will def be using them if I ever need to move here again.

After our first movers could not finish the job, I contacted Adept and they fit us in at a very busy time. Our two movers were hardworking and funny and really took care of our belongings. Their rate was much less than our first movers, who did not take great care of our things. I highly recommend Adept Movers.

    Avenues beach cottage, 90277

A whole-home move out of an older beach cottage on one of the Lower Avenues, west of PCH in 90277, where the narrow street and a short driveway left no room to pull a full-size truck to the door. The crew staged at the curb inside the marked frontage, protected the walk-street approach, and hand-carried the larger pieces out during a weekday window to stay ahead of summer beach-parking pressure. Our rate starts from $99/hr for a two-mover crew, paid in cash, with regular cargo insurance included. The truck fee is separate, and there's no fuel surcharge or hidden fees. Double drive time applies and is advised on the moving quote. We put the whole estimate in writing so you know what to expect before move day.

We don't currently offer same-day moves. A good Redondo Beach move needs the right truck for a narrow Avenues street or a Riviera hillside driveway, plus a crew booked ahead, and we'd rather set it up properly than rush it. Reach out as early as you can and we'll get you a written quote and a date that works. Even a few days' notice helps us send the right truck and coordinate an Esplanade elevator window.

On most Redondo Beach blocks, no, but in the beach-close Avenues and along the Esplanade and Riviera Village, where curb space is tight and summer parking is heavy, a reserved spot saves a long carry. The City of Redondo Beach Public Works Department handles encroachment permits for the public right-of-way through its Engineering Services Division and the City's online Citizen Portal. Pulling the permit and posting it is your job, but we'll tell you where we need the truck to sit so you can request the right spot.

It depends on your load and your access. Our 26-foot truck is the standard for bigger moves. Our 18-foot box truck is the smallest we run, and it's the one we send for the steep, winding streets and grade-limited driveways of the Hollywood Riviera, the narrow older blocks in the Avenues, and the shared driveways of North Redondo, where a 26-foot truck can't make the turn. Tell us your address and how much you're moving, and we'll size the truck before move day.

Yes. Our crew packs and unpacks at the hourly rate, and disposable packing materials and supplies are billed separately, not included in the $99. We bring boxes, packing paper, bubble wrap, and wardrobe cartons. We also handle specialty pieces like an upright or baby grand piano, a gun safe, fine art, antiques, and home gym equipment, so let us know up front and we'll plan the crew and equipment around them.

Yes. We're licensed by the California Bureau of Household Goods and Services, license number MTR0190206, and BBB-accredited with an A+ rating. Regular cargo insurance is included on every move at no extra charge. For commercial moves, a standard COI with general liability is included; custom additional-insured wording is quoted separately.

    General questions

It's hourly, starting at $99/hr for a two-mover crew, cash, with regular cargo insurance included. The truck fee is billed separately. Double drive time applies and is advised on the moving quote. No fuel surcharge, no hidden fees. We put the hourly rate in writing before you book, so there's nothing to guess at on the day.

A clean 5.0 on Google across more than 2,000 reviews comes down to a few habits: a clear written quote before you book, uniformed and background-checked crews, regular cargo insurance on every job, and no pressure afterward. Plenty of movers chase volume. We'd rather earn the next job by referral, and the reviews are what come out of that.

For a mid-week, mid-month date, a week's notice is usually plenty. Weekends, the end of the month, and the summer stretch from June through August fill up faster, so give it two to three weeks if you can. We don't currently offer same-day moves, so it's worth getting on the calendar early either way.

Life happens. Reach out as early as you can and we'll work with you to find the next open slot that fits. The sooner you let us know, the easier it is to move the crew around.
