Adept Moving is a California-licensed moving company (license MTR0190206) that has served Hidden Hills since 1998, rated 5.0 on Google across over 2,000 reviews. Our yard sits on Vineland Avenue in North Hollywood, and Hidden Hills is about 20 to 24 miles west, so we run US-101 through Sherman Oaks, Encino, Tarzana, and Woodland Hills, then exit toward Valley Circle Boulevard or Mureau Road to reach one of the city's three staffed gates. Every truck and crew member has to be pre-registered on the resident's admit list and cleared at the gatehouse before we roll in. We've loaded out of the two-acre ranch-style estates along Long Valley Road, the rebuilt modern homes on Ashley Ridge, and the secluded lots off Lasher Road. Our rate starts at $99/hr for a two-mover crew, cash, with regular cargo insurance included. The truck fee's separate, no fuel surcharge and no hidden fees. Double drive time is advised on the written quote. We carry an A+ BBB rating.

What we know about moving in Hidden Hills

    Who's moving here

Almost all of our Hidden Hills work is residential, since the city is a guard-gated equestrian community with no commercial district inside the gates. Most jobs are owners of the two-acre ranch-style and rebuilt modern estates along Long Valley Road, Hidden Valley Road, and the Round Meadow core, where the homes run large and the gate registration sets part of the schedule. Up on Ashley Ridge and off Lasher Road, it's hillside estate owners on multi-acre lots with steep private drives and secondary entry gates. A fair number of our customers are privacy-sensitive households who need controlled access and discretion, so the gate admit list matters as much as the truck. Families relocating around the Round Meadow Elementary and Las Virgenes Unified calendar make up the rest. We handle Hidden Hills as part of our Los Angeles moving services, running it out of North Hollywood like the rest of the west Valley. Two come up most: a household moving within the gates, or one heading out to Calabasas just over the line. We do a lot of those.

How the gates and roads shape a move

Hidden Hills isn't like a normal Valley neighborhood. The whole city sits behind staffed gates, and every street inside is a private road with no sidewalks, no streetlights, and no curb parking. That changes the move before it starts: the truck and crew have to be cleared at the gatehouse, and then the whole load works inside your driveway, not the street. On the two-acre lots, houses sit far back down long private drives, so we stage the truck on the driveway and plan the carry from there. The hillside addresses on Ashley Ridge and Lasher Road add steep grades and tight turnaround room, and many estates have a second private gate of their own. A 26-foot truck often can't make a long estate drive or turn around at the top, so our 18-foot box truck, the smallest we run, is what we send when the big one won't fit. The bridle trails and horse crossings run throughout, so we keep them clear during the carry. What works at one address rarely works at the next, so we match the truck to the driveway and the gate before we book it.

    Timing and access

Move day in Hidden Hills goes smoother when the gate is sorted ahead. What matters most is getting every truck and crew member on your admit list at the gatehouse; anyone not listed gets logged in one at a time and held at the gate. We don't reserve gate access or handle the registration, so you set that up with the Hidden Hills Community Association, and we coordinate our arrival to the window you've cleared. On the property, we plan for long private driveways and any secondary entry gate, staging the truck where the carry path is cleanest. Round Meadow Elementary drives a school-zone peak near the Round Meadow gate, morning and afternoon, so we time around it. On the freeway side, US-101 backs up through Woodland Hills and the west Valley on weekday peaks, so a mid-morning start usually keeps the drive between your two locations short. Plenty of our moves here run a short hop over to Calabasas, just south on Mureau Road and Mulholland Drive to The Commons. We talk the gate window and the timing through in the written quote, so there's no guessing on the day.

    Why Hidden Hills picks Adept

Licensed since 1998, with a rate that's plain to read and a crew that knows gated estate access.

    5.0 with over 2,000 reviews

We hold a 5.0 on Google across over 2,000 verified reviews. It's the number we're proudest of, and the first thing we'd tell a new Hidden Hills customer to check.

    From $99/hr, two movers

Our rate is $99 per hour for a two-mover crew, cash. Regular cargo insurance is included, the truck fee's separate, and there's no fuel surcharge.

    No hidden fees

What's in the written quote is what you pay. No surprise add-ons at the curb, and double drive time is advised on the quote up front.

    Licensed and insured

We're California-licensed, MTR0190206, with an A+ rating at the BBB. The paperwork's real, and we're happy to show it.

The right truck for the gate

Our 18-foot box truck is the smallest we run, made for steep estate driveways and tight private-road turnarounds. The 26-foot is our standard for bigger loads.

    Local since 1998

We've worked out of North Hollywood since 1998, a 20-to-24-mile run to Hidden Hills. The gates, the private roads, and the hillside estates aren't new to us.

What we move in Hidden Hills

    Local Moving in Hidden Hills

    Local Moving in Hidden Hills

House or estate, we handle Hidden Hills local moves from $99/hr for a two-mover crew, with regular cargo insurance included. We wrap furniture in moving blankets and bubble wrap, lay floor runners on your floors, and bring dollies and wardrobe cartons. If there's an upright or baby grand piano, a gun safe, fine art, antiques, or a home gym, tell us up front so we plan for it. Double drive time applies and is advised on the written quote.

Home office and small studio moves

Home office and small studio moves

There's no commercial district inside the Hidden Hills gates, so the office work we do here is a home office or a small studio inside a residence. That's desks, files, a few shelves, and office equipment, worked at our hourly rate with a two-mover crew. For any job that needs a certificate of insurance, a standard general-liability COI is included for commercial work, and if you need custom additional-insured wording, we quote that separately. Because the streets are private and gated, you handle the gate admit list and any association rules, and we coordinate our arrival to the cleared window so the move lands when it should.

Packing and unpacking in Hidden Hills

Packing and unpacking in Hidden Hills

If you want help boxing up, our crew packs and unpacks at the hourly rate, and disposable packing materials and supplies are billed separately, not folded into the $99. We bring moving blankets, bubble wrap, dollies, and wardrobe cartons, and we can do a full pack or just the kitchen and the breakables while you handle the rest. Our packing services run at the same hourly crew time as the move, not a separate flat quote. Tell us how much you want done and we'll give you a realistic read in the written quote, so the day doesn't run long on surprises.

What to know before you move in Hidden Hills

A few local details that keep move day smooth, from gate clearance to hillside estate access.

    Gate clearance and registration

    Gate clearance and registration

Hidden Hills sits entirely behind staffed gates, and it shapes move day more than anything else. The city has three entry points, the Long Valley gate off Valley Circle Boulevard near the US-101 on-ramp, the Round Meadow gate over by Mureau Road, and the Burbank gate, and all three run around the clock through the Hidden Hills Community Association. Before we arrive, every truck, driver, and mover on the job has to be on your admit list at the gatehouse, logged by name, company, and vehicle. Anyone who isn't listed gets logged in one at a time and held up at the gate, which eats into the hourly clock. We don't reserve gate access or handle any permit or registration ourselves; that part is yours to set up with the Association and the gate office ahead of the date. What we do is coordinate the crew's arrival to the cleared window you've arranged, so the truck rolls through without a backup at the gatehouse. The HHCA office sits at 24549 Long Valley Road, and they can tell you the lead time and any permitted moving-truck hours for the community. Call ahead, get the crew on the list, and the gate becomes a formality instead of a delay.

    Estate driveways and private roads

    Estate driveways and private roads

Once you're through the gate, Hidden Hills is all private property. The streets themselves are private roads maintained by the Community Association, with no sidewalks and nowhere to park at the curb, so the whole move works inside your own driveway. On the two-acre lots along Long Valley Road and Hidden Valley Road, the houses sit well back from the road down long private drives, and the truck stages on the driveway rather than the lane. Many estates have their own secondary entry gate beyond the city's perimeter gates, so the crew often clears a second time on the property before staging. The Association sets the rules on private-road use, tradesperson hours, and keeping the bridle trails and horse crossings clear, so we confirm those with you and the HHCA before the day. Because there's no commercial corridor inside the gates, the occasional office work we do here is a home office or a small studio inside a residence, the same desks, files, and office equipment we'd handle anywhere, worked at our hourly rate with a two-mover crew. If a job needs a certificate of insurance, a standard general-liability COI is included for commercial work, and custom additional-insured wording is quoted separately. Tell us the property's gate and driveway setup when you ask for your quote.

Hillside estate access on Ashley Ridge and Lasher Road

Hillside estate access on Ashley Ridge and Lasher Road

The hillside addresses are their own challenge. Ashley Ridge Road and the secluded lots off Lasher Road run to custom modern estates on multi-acre parcels with steep grades and long sloped driveways behind private gates. On that kind of approach a 26-foot truck often can't turn around or hold the grade, so we send our 18-foot box truck, the smallest in our fleet, when the big one won't fit the drive. We don't run a shuttle service, and we don't promise to drive any particular grade, so we ask you to walk the access yourself before move day and tell us what the crew is dealing with: how long and steep the driveway runs, whether a full-size van can turn around at the top, and how far the carry is from the door to where the truck can sit. Walking it ahead of time is what keeps the day on track on these properties. The landscaping is usually extensive and the turnaround room tight, so positioning the van takes care after gate clearance. Flag the grade and the carry distance when you ask for your quote, and we'll size the truck and the crew for the lot.

Older ranch-style estates and modern rebuilds

Older ranch-style estates and modern rebuilds

Hidden Hills started as a 1950s planned equestrian development laid out by landscape architect A.E. Hanson, and the housing splits between those original ranch-style estates and the modern homes that have replaced or expanded many of them. The earlier ranch-style houses run long and low with wide single-story layouts, built-in millwork, and original cabinetry that we pad on the way out. The rebuilt modern estates on Ashley Ridge and elsewhere are larger, with wide rooms but sometimes tight interior staircases and tall entry features. In the older homes, a wide sofa or sectional sometimes takes a careful angle, and other times we pull a door off the hinges or break down a bed frame to clear a narrow passage. A mattress doesn't come apart, so we carry it flat and ease a box spring through on the diagonal. These are high-value households, so we wrap furniture in moving blankets and bubble wrap, lay floor runners across the floors, and pad the built-ins and staircases as we go. If there's a baby grand piano, antiques, fine art, or a home gym in the house, tell us up front so we plan the carry and the equipment for it. We don't pre-measure on a site visit, so the doorway and stairwell details help when you ask for the quote.

    Best days and times

    Best days and times

Traffic into Hidden Hills keys off US-101, the Ventura Freeway, which runs just south of the city and backs up hard on weekday peaks through Woodland Hills and the west Valley. The bigger timing factor is the gate: every vehicle queues at a staffed gatehouse, and an unregistered truck gets held for individual log-in, so a pre-cleared arrival is what keeps the start clean. Inside the gates, Round Meadow Elementary drives a morning drop-off and afternoon pickup peak near the Round Meadow gate and the community center, so we schedule around it. A mid-morning start, after the early freeway crush clears, usually keeps the drive between your two locations short and the hourly clock honest. Moves here cluster around the Las Virgenes Unified school calendar and the summer stretch from June through August, plus estate sales and renovations rather than lease turnover, so the busy dates fill faster and the best availability lands mid-week and mid-month. Coordinating the gate admit list and any second on-property clearance also goes smoother on a quieter weekday than a packed weekend. We'll talk the timing through when we put your written quote together, so the crew start matches your cleared gate window.

Max & Alex are the best movers. They showed up exactly on time and brought any supplies that you may need. They took a lot of care with all my belongings and were super helpful packing up boxes. They took apart my king bed and reassembled it perfectly. They even fixed a loose bolt leaving the bed in better condition than when they arrived. Not a scratch or a ding on anything!...

Not gonna lie after all the quotes I got I was a little skeptical with how affordable their rate was (but I was desperate to save some money haha). But they were amazing! Vladimir and Alik were my 2 men and they handled everything carefully and delicately and like they’ve been doing it forever. They’ve got it down to a science. Nothing damaged or scratched or scuffed or anything and very helpful and communicative. Will def be using them if I ever need to move here again.

After our first movers could not finish the job, I contacted Adept and they fit us in at a very busy time. Our two movers were hardworking and funny and really took care of our belongings. Their rate was much less than our first movers, who did not take great care of our things. I highly recommend Adept Movers.

    Long Valley Road estate, 91302

A whole-home move out of a large ranch-style estate on a two-acre lot in the Long Valley Road core, 91302. The crew and trucks were pre-registered on the resident's gate admit list and cleared at the Long Valley gatehouse on arrival, then staged on the long private driveway well back from the road. They padded the built-ins, wrapped the furniture in moving blankets and bubble wrap, laid floor runners through the entry, and kept the equestrian trail crossings clear while carrying out the high-value pieces. A two-mover crew, hourly, with regular cargo insurance already included.

    Ashley Ridge hillside estate, 91302

A relocation out of a custom modern estate on a multi-acre hillside lot on Ashley Ridge, 91302. The property had its own secondary entry gate beyond the city's perimeter gates, so after clearing the Long Valley gate the crew obtained a second on-property clearance. They positioned the van carefully on the sloped driveway, which left limited turnaround room, and protected the long carry paths from the upper levels. The owner had walked the access with us ahead of time, so the crew knew the grade and the carry distance before they arrived. A three-mover crew, hourly, with the cargo insurance included.

    Round Meadow family estate, 91302

A family estate move near Round Meadow Elementary and the community center, 91302, scheduled around the school-zone traffic and pre-cleared at the Round Meadow gate. The crew worked entirely within the gated private driveway, timed the load to avoid the morning drop-off congestion, and kept the no-sidewalk rural lane clear for horses and residents during the carry. They wrapped the furniture in moving blankets and bubble wrap and laid floor runners across the entry. The new place sat a short drive away. A two-mover crew, hourly, with regular cargo insurance included.

    Hidden Hills Moving FAQs

    Hidden Hills-specific questions

Our rate starts at $99/hr for a two-mover crew, paid in cash, with regular cargo insurance included. The truck fee is separate, and there's no fuel surcharge or hidden fees. Double drive time applies and is advised on the written quote. We put the whole estimate in writing so you know what to expect.

We don't currently offer same-day moves. A good move takes planning: gate registration arranged ahead and a crew booked in advance. We'd rather set it up properly than rush it. Reach out as early as you can and we'll get you a written quote and a date that works. Notice especially helps in Hidden Hills, where every truck and mover has to be on your gate admit list before move day.

No, that part is yours to arrange. Because every street in Hidden Hills is private and guard-gated, you set up the move with the Hidden Hills Community Association and add our trucks and crew to your admit list at the gatehouse ahead of the date. The HHCA office is at 24549 Long Valley Road, 818-227-6657. We don't reserve gate access or handle permits, but once your window is cleared, we coordinate the crew's arrival to it so there's no backup at the gate.

It depends on your load and your access. Our 26-foot truck is the standard for bigger moves. Our 18-foot box truck is the smallest we run, and it's the one we send for the steep estate driveways and tight private-road turnarounds on Ashley Ridge, Lasher Road, and the hillside lots where a 26-foot truck can't make the grade or turn around. Tell us your address and how much you're moving, and we'll size the truck before move day.

Yes. Our crew packs and unpacks at the hourly rate, and disposable packing materials and supplies are billed separately, not included in the $99. We bring boxes, packing paper, bubble wrap, and wardrobe cartons. We also handle specialty pieces like upright and baby grand pianos, gun safes, fine art, antiques, and home gyms, so let us know up front and we'll plan the crew and equipment around them.

Yes. We're licensed by the California Bureau of Household Goods and Services, license number MTR0190206, and BBB-accredited with an A+ rating. Regular cargo insurance is included on every move at no extra charge. For commercial moves, a standard COI with general liability is included; custom additional-insured wording is quoted separately.

    General questions

It's hourly, starting at $99/hr for a two-mover crew, cash, with regular cargo insurance included. The truck fee is billed separately. Double drive time applies and is advised on the moving quote. No fuel surcharge, no hidden fees. We put the hourly rate in writing before you book, so there's nothing to guess at on the day.

A clean 5.0 on Google across more than 2,000 reviews comes down to a few habits: a clear written quote before you book, uniformed and background-checked crews, regular cargo insurance on every job, and no pressure afterward. Plenty of movers chase volume. We'd rather earn the next job by referral, and the reviews are what come out of that.

For a mid-week, mid-month date, a week's notice is usually plenty. Weekends, the end of the month, and the summer stretch from June through August fill up faster, so give it two to three weeks if you can. We don't currently offer same-day moves, so it's worth getting on the calendar early either way.

Life happens. Reach out as early as you can and we'll work with you to find the next open slot that fits. The sooner you let us know, the easier it is to move the crew around.
