Adept Moving is a California-licensed moving company (license MTR0190206) that has served Orange since 1998, rated 5.0 on Google across over 2,000 reviews. Our yard sits on Vineland Avenue in North Hollywood, and Orange is a long cross-basin haul, roughly 40 to 45 miles southeast. We run US-101 to the I-5, take it south through downtown Los Angeles to the Orange Crush interchange, then branch onto SR-57, SR-22, or SR-55 for the Chapman Avenue and Tustin Street exits. By now we know the Victorian and Craftsman houses around the Plaza in Old Towne, the estate lots in Orange Park Acres, the student rentals by Chapman University, and the offices strung along Tustin Street. A two-mover crew starts at $99/hr, cash, with regular cargo insurance built into that rate. The truck fee sits on its own line, there's no fuel surcharge, and we don't spring anything on you at the end. Double drive time applies and is advised on the written quote. We carry an A+ BBB rating.

    Serving Orange from North Hollywood

Our yard sits on Vineland Avenue in North Hollywood, roughly 40 to 45 miles northwest of Orange. We run US-101 to the I-5 south through downtown Los Angeles to the Orange Crush interchange, then branch onto SR-57, SR-22, or SR-55 to the Chapman Avenue, Katella Avenue, or Tustin Street exits. That covers every Orange neighborhood: the Victorian and Craftsman homes of Old Towne around the Plaza, the student rentals near Chapman University, the estate lots of Orange Park Acres, the east-side hillside tracts toward the Santa Ana foothills, and the mid-century tracts of central and west Orange.

What we know about moving in Orange

    Who's moving here

Most of our Orange work ties to Old Towne and the neighborhoods that ring it. Around the Plaza and the Orange Circle, we move homeowners in Victorian, Craftsman, and Spanish Colonial Revival houses on the original historic grid, where the narrow streets and the protected fabric are what we plan around first. Near Chapman University we handle students, faculty, and staff in campus-adjacent apartments and rental homes, most of it timed to the academic calendar. Out east, in Orange Park Acres and the Chapman Heights hillside tracts, we move estate and equestrian-property owners on large lots with long driveways and gated or HOA access. Commercial work comes through too, from retail, professional offices, and storefronts along Tustin Street, Chapman Avenue, and Katella Avenue and around the hospital district. We handle Orange as part of our Los Angeles moving services, running it out of North Hollywood like the rest of northern-central Orange County. A household heading southwest to Santa Ana on SR-55, or northwest to Anaheim on Katella Avenue, is a familiar run for us.

How the streets shape a move

In Orange the block you're on sets the truck we bring. Old Towne sits on the tight original grid around the Plaza traffic circle, with narrow streets, short driveways, and mature street trees that leave little room for a long truck, so we often stage at the curb and carry longer. Out east toward the Santa Ana foothills, the Chapman Heights tracts climb on sloped, winding streets with cul-de-sacs and grade changes, and a 26-foot truck can't always make the turn. Orange Park Acres runs the other way: large equestrian lots with long private driveways, horse trails, few sidewalks, and some narrow or unpaved rural lanes, where the streets are generally wide but the carry to the door is long. The central and west Orange tracts are more standard, mid-century single-family blocks with modest driveways and generally straightforward access. Along Tustin Street, Chapman Avenue, and Katella Avenue, the commercial arterials run thick with traffic and lean on shopping-center loading zones and shared docks. When the 26-footer can't sit on a historic block or climb a hillside driveway, the 18-foot box, the smallest we keep, goes in its place.

    Timing and access

Access sorted early is what keeps an Orange move day on schedule. In Old Towne, the narrow historic streets and short driveways mean we plan curbside staging and, downtown along Chapman Avenue and near the Plaza, we sequence the load to work inside tight curb frontage. In the east-side hillside tracts and the gated Orange Park Acres approaches, we ask you to walk the access before the day and line up any gate or HOA check-in, because the driveway grade and the carry distance set where the truck can sit. On the commercial corridors, dock and after-hours windows are set with building management, and we coordinate our arrival once you line that up. The big variable here is the freeways: the I-5, SR-22, and SR-57 Orange Crush interchange next to the city backs up hard, and Tustin Street, Chapman Avenue, and Katella Avenue carry heavy commuter and shopper traffic. Plenty of our Orange moves run a short county hop, southwest to Santa Ana on SR-55 or northwest to Anaheim on Katella Avenue. We time the legs around the crush to keep the drive between your two locations short, and a mid-morning start usually holds the hourly total down. Double drive time applies and is advised on the written quote. We'll lay it out before you commit.

    Why Orange picks Adept

Licensed since 1998, with a rate that's plain to read and a crew that knows Old Towne, the foothill tracts, and the Orange Park Acres estates.

    5.0 with over 2,000 reviews

We hold a 5.0 on Google across over 2,000 verified reviews. That track record is the thing we're proudest of, and it's the first thing we'd point a new Orange customer to.

    From $99/hr, two movers

Our rate is $99 per hour for a two-mover crew, cash. Regular cargo insurance is included, the truck fee's separate, and there's no fuel surcharge.

    No hidden fees

What's in the written quote is what you pay. No surprise add-ons at the curb, and double drive time is advised on the quote up front.

    Licensed and insured

We're California-licensed, MTR0190206, with an A+ rating at the BBB. The paperwork's real, and we're happy to show it.

The right truck for Old Towne

Our 18-foot box truck is the smallest we run, made for narrow historic streets and steep foothill driveways. The 26-foot is our standard for bigger loads.

    Local since 1998

We've worked out of North Hollywood since 1998, a 40-to-45-mile haul to Orange. Old Towne, the hillside tracts, and the equestrian lots aren't new to us.

    What we move in Orange

    Local Moving in Orange

    Local Moving in Orange

House, condo, apartment, or student rental, we handle Orange local moves from $99/hr for a two-mover crew, with regular cargo insurance included. We wrap furniture in moving blankets and bubble wrap, lay floor runners on your floors, and bring dollies and wardrobe cartons. If you've got an upright or baby grand piano, a gun safe, fine art, antiques, or a home gym, tell us up front so we plan for it. Double drive time applies and is advised on the written quote.

    Commercial moves in Orange

    Commercial moves in Orange

We move retail, professional offices, and storefronts along Tustin Street, Chapman Avenue, and Katella Avenue and around the Orange Circle. That's desks, files, display fixtures, and office equipment, worked at our hourly rate with a two-mover crew. For buildings that ask for a certificate of insurance, a standard general-liability COI is included for commercial jobs, and if you need custom additional-insured wording, we quote that separately. Shopping-center loading zones, shared docks, and heavy corridor traffic are the norm here, so you handle the dock and building access rules and we coordinate the timing and sequence the load so your move lands in its window.

    Packing and unpacking in Orange

    Packing and unpacking in Orange

If you want help boxing up, our crew packs and unpacks at the hourly rate, and disposable packing materials and supplies are billed separately, not folded into the $99. We bring moving blankets, bubble wrap, dollies, and wardrobe cartons, and we can do a full pack or just the kitchen and the breakables while you handle the rest. Packing labor is billed at the same hourly crew time as the move, not a separate flat quote. Tell us how much you want done and we'll give you a realistic read in the written quote, so the day doesn't run long on surprises.

What to know before you move in Orange

A few local details that keep move day smooth, from permits to historic-district access.

    Permits and street rules

    Permits and street rules

On many Orange blocks, parking the truck at the curb is straightforward, but in Old Towne around the Plaza and along the busy arterials, Tustin Street, Chapman Avenue, and Katella Avenue, a reserved curb space can save a long carry. The City of Orange Public Works Department issues encroachment permits for work and staging in the public right-of-way, and those are processed through the City of Orange online permit portal rather than over the counter. Whether Orange requires a dedicated permit specifically for moving-truck curb staging, as opposed to a general right-of-way encroachment permit, is worth confirming with Public Works directly, and the advance-notice window wasn't something we could pin down, so we'd ask early. On the narrow original streets of Old Towne, where driveways are short and street trees are mature, a posted no-parking spot in front of the door changes the whole rhythm of the load. Getting the permit and posting it is on you, though we'll mark exactly where we need the truck so you can request the right spot. Anything oversize out on the state routes, I-5, SR-57, SR-22, and SR-55, is Caltrans territory, which has nothing to do with a city curb permit.

    Commercial and campus access

    Commercial and campus access

Commercial and campus work in Orange splits a few ways. Along Tustin Street, Chapman Avenue, and Katella Avenue, retail and office relocations usually run through shopping-center loading zones and shared docks, so a move there means coordinating dock access and, on the busier centers, working an after-hours or early-morning window to stay clear of commuter and shopper traffic. Around the Orange Circle, the historic storefronts sit right on narrow curb frontage with limited off-street loading, so we sequence the load to work within tight curb space near the antique row. Near Chapman University, student and multifamily rentals come with limited on-site and on-street parking, and the academic calendar concentrates move activity, so curb staging competes with student parking close to campus. For buildings that ask for a certificate of insurance, a standard general-liability COI is included for commercial jobs, and if you need custom additional-insured wording, we quote that separately. Reserving a loading dock or a freight window is set with building management on your end, and once you've lined it up we coordinate our arrival to it, pad the entry, protect shared walkways and storefronts, run the load on dollies, and keep it moving inside the window.

    Hillside and large-lot access

    Hillside and large-lot access

The east side of Orange rises toward the Santa Ana foothills, and it moves differently from the flats. The Chapman Heights tracts and other hillside streets climb on sloped, winding blocks with cul-de-sacs, grade changes, tight turnarounds, and some gated or HOA entries, where a 26-foot truck often can't make the turn or the driveway grade. When that's the case we send our 18-foot box truck, the smallest we run, and stage at the nearest safe spot to carry from. Orange Park Acres is its own kind of access: a semi-rural equestrian area of large estate lots, with a 20,000-square-foot minimum, long private driveways, horse trails, few sidewalks or streetlights, and some narrow or unpaved rural lanes. The lots are generous, but the approach to the door is long, so the carry runs longer and the truck placement matters. We don't shuttle with a smaller truck or guarantee we'll drive any specific grade, so walking the access ahead of time earns its keep out here: before move day, check the carry distance, the driveway pitch, any gate or HOA check-in, and whether a long truck can turn around at the top, then tell us what you found. Tell us about the grade and the long carry up front so the truck and crew we send actually fit the property.

    Old Towne historic homes

    Old Towne historic homes

Old Towne Orange is the largest National Register historic district in California, close to a square mile of Victorian, Craftsman, and Spanish Colonial Revival houses laid out on the original grid around the Plaza. No two of them load the same. Doorways tend to run narrow, staircases are vintage and often steep, and built-in millwork sits right where you'd want to set a dolly. A big sectional might go out at an angle in one house and, the next place over, need a door lifted off its pins or a bed frame taken apart to make the turn. Mattresses don't collapse, so we carry them flat and thread the box spring through on the diagonal. The crew wraps everything in blankets and bubble wrap, lays runners across the floors, and pads the rails and cabinets, keeping extra attention on original woodwork and the front porches. The city runs Historic Preservation Design Standards for the district and backs them with a demolition review, and Chapman University owns dozens of these homes, plenty of them designated, so a given house may carry historic status. That side is the owner's paperwork and has no bearing on how we wrap or lift. We don't pre-measure in person, so a heads-up about the doorways, the stairwell, and any antique or built-in pieces helps us plan the quote.

    Best days and times

    Best days and times

Traffic in Orange keys off the freeways that box it in. The I-5, SR-22, and SR-57 Orange Crush interchange next to the city is one of the most congested in the region, and SR-57 and SR-55 carry heavy through-traffic on either side, so the drive between two locations swings widely with the time of day. Tustin Street, Chapman Avenue, and Katella Avenue run thick with commuter and shopper traffic, and in Old Towne the Plaza traffic circle and narrow historic streets slow local circulation near the antique row. A mid-morning start, after the early crush clears, usually shortens the drive and keeps the hours in check. Weekdays are quieter on the arterials and easier for dock and gate coordination than a packed Saturday. Moves here peak in summer, June through August, with the Orange Unified School District calendar and lease turnover, plus a distinct late-summer surge when Chapman University students move in near Old Towne, so those dates fill faster and the best availability lands mid-week and mid-month. We'll pin down the timing as we write your quote, so the start fits your access window.

Max & Alex are the best movers. They showed up exactly on time and brought any supplies that you may need. They took a lot of care with all my belongings and were super helpful packing up boxes. They took apart my king bed and reassembled it perfectly. They even fixed a loose bolt leaving the bed in better condition than when they arrived. Not a scratch or a ding on anything!...

Not gonna lie after all the quotes I got I was a little skeptical with how affordable their rate was (but I was desperate to save some money haha). But they were amazing! Vladimir and Alik were my 2 men and they handled everything carefully and delicately and like they’ve been doing it forever. They’ve got it down to a science. Nothing damaged or scratched or scuffed or anything and very helpful and communicative. Will def be using them if I ever need to move here again.

After our first movers could not finish the job, I contacted Adept and they fit us in at a very busy time. Our two movers were hardworking and funny and really took care of our belongings. Their rate was much less than our first movers, who did not take great care of our things. I highly recommend Adept Movers.

    Old Towne Craftsman home, 92866

A whole-home move out of an early-1900s Craftsman near the Orange Circle, 92866, on a narrow historic-grid street with a short driveway and mature street trees that limited truck access. The crew staged at the curb and hand-carried furniture the longer distance to the truck, protecting the home's original woodwork and porch on the way out. They wrapped the furniture in moving blankets and bubble wrap, laid floor runners through the entry, and worked carefully around the protected historic fabric. With the driveway too short for a long truck, the placement and the carry path were mapped out before anyone showed up. Two movers, hourly, cargo insurance already part of the rate.

This one was out of a large-lot equestrian estate in Orange Park Acres, 92869, on a 20,000-plus-square-foot lot with a long private driveway and a rural-lane approach. The crew positioned the truck for the long carry to the door, padded stair runs and built-ins, and coordinated access around the semi-rural property, where there were no sidewalks and limited street lighting. They wrapped the furniture in moving blankets and bubble wrap and took the heavier pieces slow over the long approach. The owner had gone over the access with us in advance, so the crew had the carry distance in hand before arriving. Two movers on the hourly rate, cargo insurance included.

A small ground-floor professional office relocating along the Chapman Avenue corridor near the Plaza, 92866, needed its space shifted nearby. We moved desks, files, display fixtures, and the office equipment, all at our hourly rate with a two-mover crew. Curb frontage near the Orange Circle was narrow and historic-district constrained with steady traffic and little off-street loading, so we sequenced the packed file and equipment loads to work within the tight curb space and protected the shared entries and storefronts. The two addresses sat a short drive apart. The new building asked for a certificate of insurance, and the standard general-liability COI we include for commercial jobs covered it. They reopened without giving up the day.

Our rate starts from $99/hr for a two-mover crew, paid in cash, with regular cargo insurance included. The truck fee is separate, and there's no fuel surcharge or hidden fees. Double drive time applies and is advised on the written quote. We put the whole estimate in writing so you know what to expect.

We don't currently offer same-day moves. A good Orange move takes planning, the right truck for a narrow Old Towne street or a foothill driveway, and a crew scheduled ahead, and we'd rather set it up right than force it into a same-day window. Reach out as early as you can and we'll get you a written quote and a date that works. Even a few days' notice helps us send the right truck for a historic-grid street or a gated Orange Park Acres approach.

On most Orange blocks, no, but in Old Towne around the Plaza and along Tustin Street, Chapman Avenue, and Katella Avenue, where curb space is tight and busy, a reserved spot saves a long carry. The City of Orange Public Works Department handles encroachment permits for the public right-of-way, processed through the city's online permit portal, so it's worth confirming what applies to a moving truck on your block. Pulling the permit and posting it is your job, but we'll tell you where we need the truck to sit so you can request the right spot.

It depends on your load and your access. Our 26-foot truck is the standard for bigger moves. Our 18-foot box truck is the smallest we run, and it's the one we send for the narrow original streets and short driveways of Old Towne, the sloped hillside tracts toward the Santa Ana foothills, and any block where a 26-foot truck can't make the turn. Tell us your address and how much you're moving, and we'll size the truck before move day.

Yes. Our crew packs and unpacks at the hourly rate, and disposable packing materials and supplies are billed separately, not included in the $99. We bring boxes, packing paper, bubble wrap, and wardrobe cartons. We also handle specialty pieces like upright and baby grand pianos, gun safes, fine art, antiques, and home gyms, so let us know up front and we'll plan the crew and equipment around them.

Yes. We're licensed by the California Bureau of Household Goods and Services, license number MTR0190206, and BBB-accredited with an A+ rating. Regular cargo insurance is included on every move at no extra charge. For commercial moves, a standard COI with general liability is included; custom additional-insured wording is quoted separately.

    General questions

It's hourly, starting at $99/hr for a two-mover crew, cash, with regular cargo insurance included. The truck fee is billed separately. Double drive time applies and is advised on the moving quote. No fuel surcharge, no hidden fees. We put the hourly rate in writing before you book, so there's nothing to guess at on the day.

A clean 5.0 on Google across more than 2,000 reviews comes down to a few habits: a clear written quote before you book, uniformed and background-checked crews, regular cargo insurance on every job, and no pressure afterward. Plenty of movers chase volume. We'd rather earn the next job by referral, and the reviews are what come out of that.

For a mid-week, mid-month date, a week's notice is usually plenty. Weekends, the end of the month, and the summer stretch from June through August fill up faster, so give it two to three weeks if you can. We don't currently offer same-day moves, so it's worth getting on the calendar early either way.

Life happens. Reach out as early as you can and we'll work with you to find the next open slot that fits. The sooner you let us know, the easier it is to move the crew around.
