A House-to-Apartment Move from Milbank Street to Moorpark Street in Sherman Oaks
Recently we helped a couple move from a multi-level house to an apartment in Sherman Oaks. They contacted us 3 weeks prior and asked if we could pack and move their 98-inch TV and a glass dining table. We knew that both of these items needed extra protection, so we planned to bring packing materials. The clients had reserved an elevator at the apartment building. Our task at the house on Milbank Street was to carry furniture down from the second floor, so this move needed 3 movers. Sasha and Vlad were by my side.

Milbank Street Pickup
When we arrived at the pre-arranged time, we legally parked our 26-foot truck at a curb. We brought our disposable bubble wrap, tape, stretch wrap, packing paper and boxes, which are billed separately from the standard hourly moving rate. To protect the floors from scratches we used our floor runners. Sasha and Vlad started by taking apart the large U-shaped sectional sofa and I went upstairs to disassemble the bed frame. They wrapped the pieces of the sectional in moving blankets and wheeled them into the truck using hand trucks. Then Vlad helped me bring down furniture from the bedroom. It took some extra effort to do this, as we had to tilt the tall wooden dresser and wardrobe cabinets to fit through tight turns on stairs. Since the desks and the office chair were height-adjustable, we managed to lower them enough to fit through the tight spaces.
We wrapped all the furniture in moving blankets before it left the house. Sasha had the task to wrap the 98-inch TV in bubble wrap, pack it in the box and label it. He secured it upright inside the truck. I wrapped the glass dining table in bubble wrap and we brought it into the truck with Sasha. Vlad gathered all the kitchen items and electric devices in boxes and padded them with packing paper. Then we loaded the French-door refrigerator and the remaining furniture into the truck using our hand trucks. Lastly, we brought boxes and plastic bins into the truck.
Moorpark Street Drop-off
Moorpark Street had a legal curb parking right in front of the apartment building. The unloading was easier, since we used the elevator. The couple showed Vlad where they wanted him to place their boxes and plastic bins. Sasha and I put the French-door refrigerator in the new kitchen along with other items that belonged there, such as the glass dining table. I put the bed frame back together and we placed the mattress on top. We also brought bedroom furniture and the sectional to the corresponding rooms.
We placed the TV and the console in the living room, the couple signed off, and we went back to North Hollywood.
