A one-story house move on Stratford Avenue to a one-story bungalow on Hope Street
In September, Adept Moving handled a residential move from a one-story house on Stratford Avenue near Monterey Road to a one-story bungalow on Hope Street, both in South Pasadena. It's a quiet, tree-lined block with loads of mature palms scattered along the street.
It was a regular three-mover job for a house. Viktor, our crew foreman, and Alim ran this job with me from A to B.

Stratford Avenue Pickup
The client reached out to us in September, they told us what was moving, where it was going, and confirmed that the afternoon would be a suitable time. We chose our standard 26-foot truck for the job, as it would fit the street and have enough space for all the items.
We arrived in the afternoon and parked legally at the curb, as the client had confirmed with us on the phone. The walkway between the truck and the front door was long, so everything was moved by hand or on a moving dolly, in most cases.
We laid the floor runners before we started the moving process for the floor protection. Viktor took the kitchen first. The fridge was the item that shaped the job on that day. It was wrapped in the moving blanket and strapped. We put it on the moving dolly and carried it out right to the truck, curving past the long walkway and the set of mature trees. We loaded it into the truck using the liftgate and strapped it against the wall.
Viktor came back for the kitchen supplies. He carried everything out by hand and stacked it in the corner of the truck. Then he came back for the fragile-marked box. It was bubble-wrapped by the client before we arrived using their own disposable supplies and materials. It was treated like a fragile box and rode separately.
Alim went to the bedroom next, where he laid eyes on a queen-size bed and two nightstands. The bed came apart into the frame and the headboard. The box spring and the mattress were carried as a whole. They were wrapped in the moving blankets and carefully brought out to the truck right through the entry path.
On his second trip, he took two nightstands and carried them into the truck.
After the client did a quick walkthrough and confirmed that everything was on board, we drove away to Hope Street.
Hope Street Drop-off
Hope Street was a quiet residential street with a lot of different trees down the block. The client confirmed the place where we could legally hold the curb for unloading. It was a simple curb-to-the-door delivery after.
We lowered the liftgate and carried the fridge into the kitchen on a moving dolly, where the client showed us the preferred place. The heaviest item of our move was unwrapped and placed against the wall. The kitchen supplies were carried right after.
Viktor and I carried the queen-size bed into the bedroom. We put the frame back together and bolted the headboard on first. The box spring and the mattress went on top. Then I returned with the two nightstands and placed them against the wall. At the same time, Alim wheeled in the fragile-marked box. It was left where the client wanted and unwrapped.
