An Apartment To House move from East Magnolia Blvd to Lima St in Burbank
In July we handled a move from a two-story multi-family apartment building to a detached single-family home. This time the apartment was on the second floor and the building did not have an elevator. I knew that our main task would be carrying all the heavy items down the stairs. East Magnolia Boulevard is a busy street with a mix of residential buildings, apartments, and commercial buildings. Lima Street is mainly residential and much quieter than East Magnolia Boulevard.
The only challenging part of this move was that we had to angle the furniture slightly to get around the turns on the stairs.
The client texted us two weeks before the move and asked us to pack some of his items. The multi-family apartment building on East Magnolia Boulevard did not have a private driveway, so the client confirmed that we could park at the curb. Since the curb out front doesn't leave room for our standard 26-foot truck, we brought the 18-foot box truck, the smallest we run. The drop-off location had a driveway leading toward a detached garage. We worked together with foreman Alexey this time.

East Magnolia Boulevard Pickup
We parked our 18-foot box truck at a curb right next to a two-story multi-family apartment building. When we came into the apartment, we laid down runners to protect the floor. I took our disposable packing with us, so we had packing paper, boxes, tape, stretch wrap, and bubble wrap, which are charged separately from our standard hourly rate. Alexey packed the client's clothes into our wardrobe cartons directly from the closet. In the meantime I packed the TV and took apart the bed frame. Alexey then wrapped the mirror in bubble wrap. Before the furniture left the apartment, we wrapped each piece into moving blankets to protect them during transportation. Alexey wrapped the chairs, the office desk, the desk chair, the dresser, the coffee table, the small bookcase, and the floor lamp and I carried down lighter items using a hand truck. Then we carried the office desk and the coffee table together down the stairs. It was the most challenging part of the move, since we had to turn the furniture a little to pass the turns on stairs. Lastly, we stood the mattress on its side by the wall of the truck.
Lima Street Drop-off
At the curb of Lima Street Alexey carried the boxes and I transferred the desk chair and the dresser. Then we wheeled the small bookcase and the floor lamp inside using a hand truck. Then we worked together to carry the office desk and came back for the coffee table. We placed them in the client's new living room. We put the TV on top of the TV stand, as the client had asked us. He showed us where he planned to have his new bedroom and I reassembled the bed frame there. Then Alexey placed the mattress on top of the bed.
After we finished, the client said that he was going to leave a positive review about our work.
