A Valley Village Move to Bellingham Avenue

Adept Moving recently moved a client from a single-story house at the pickup to the four-unit building on Bellingham Avenue. This wasn't an ordinary curb-to-door move, as our crew loaded all the items mentioned using the client's garage. The client advised us to park right on the private driveway, as we would be loading all the items directly from the garage.

This residential move required three movers, so Volodya and Maxim were with me all the time. We had a whale of a job that time.

The Move at a Glance

  • Pickup: A single-story house on Rhodes Avenue, Valley Village
  • Destination: A four-unit building on Bellingham Avenue, Valley Village
  • Property type: Single-story house at the pickup
  • Crew: Three-mover crew
  • Inventory: A fridge, a fragile-marked box, a box spring, two mattresses, a few plastic totes, automotive supplies (garage tools mostly), a lot of clothing wardrobe cartons, and seasonal decorations

Valley Village Garage Pickup

The client placed an order and confirmed morning as the best time because of the day off. We picked the 26-foot box truck from our fleet, as it fit the most on our move day. The main dilemma was where we could legally park to make a load. The client confirmed a private driveway garage entrance, and we could legally park right at the garage door. Some things were sorted at the garage ahead of time, and other items could be moved from the house right through the garage.

We arrived precisely in the morning and parked at the garage door, set out all our cones in front of the truck, and lowered the liftgate. Everything was ready for the loading.

The client pointed out the fragile-marked box placed at the corner of the garage. The box was stacked on the two plastic totes. It had already been taped shut and packed by the client. It was stored in the truck separately from other items.

The fridge was also in the garage. Volodya and Maxim wrapped it in the moving blanket and placed it on the moving dolly; it was stored carefully against the truck wall.

Then a box spring came in; we shrink-wrapped it on the fly as the client offered a lot of disposable materials and supplies that we needed for the job. It took two of us to store it in the corner of the truck against the wall. Two mattresses were stored right away; they had been shrink-wrapped by us the same way as a box spring and rode on their edges all the way down to Bellingham Avenue.

Volodya carried the automotive supplies that had already been packed by the client. They were garage tools that were boxed like anything else. Then seasonal decorations went in; they also had already been packed and were stored without a hitch.

Maxim carried out the clothing wardrobe cartons last. T I helped him pack all the client's clothes into them and stack them like anything else near the items we'd just loaded.

Bellingham Avenue Drop-off

Bellingham Avenue was in the vicinity; it shared the same ZIP with our pickup. It was a four-unit building. The client confirmed that we could legally park at the curb not far away from our drop-off. We had to carry everything by hand right to the apartment in the second unit.

The fridge went in first as it was the heaviest. Volodya helped me carry it into the apartment using the stairs. It was placed in the kitchen as the client wanted. Then we brought in a box spring, the same way up the stairs, with Volodya by my side. Two mattresses came shortly after. Both were stored in the bedroom.

We moved in a fragile-marked box with two plastic totes underneath with extra care. We sorted it in the hall following the client's wishes. We were extra careful on our way up.

Maxim also carried in automotive supplies, namely garage tools, and seasonal decorations on his second run. They were stored in a huge closet. The wardrobe cartons with hanging clothes came last and were sorted room by room.

We drove away only after the client's confirmation that we had unloaded everything. They were especially pleased with how we handled a fragile-marked box and a fridge on the way.
