A Valley Village Four-Story Apartment Complex Move to Vantage Avenue

Adept Moving recently handled a move from a four-story apartment complex to a one-story house on Vantage Avenue, both in Valley Village. It was a tree-lined residential block with a landscaped narrow parkway strip.

It was one of those two-mover crew moves that was transparent and easy from the get-go. We had a pickup on a quiet residential street. The client also packed many of the items beforehand and told us in advance about the preferred timetable. Artem assisted me with the move from the very beginning.

The Move at a Glance

  • Pickup: Four-story apartment complex on a residential street in Valley Village, CA 91607
  • Destination: One-story house on Vantage Avenue, Valley Village, CA 91607
  • Property type: One-bedroom apartment in a four-story apartment complex
  • Crew: Two-mover crew because of a light load
  • Inventory: Wardrobe clothing cartons, a loveseat, a bed frame that came apart from the start, a mattress, a wooden chair, 2 nightstands, and a dresser

Valley Village Pickup

We were in contact with the client a week ahead of the move. We confirmed the afternoon as the most suitable time window. It was a light load for a household, so we picked an 18-foot box truck, which fit the best for our task. We also found out that we could legally park at the curb; the client's confirmation was ahead of time.

We arrived in the afternoon right when the client specifically wanted. His apartment was on the ground floor. I parked the truck at the confirmed parking spot; we set out our cones behind the truck and lowered the liftgate right away.

We protected the wooden floors with our floor runners for extra protection. I took the bedroom first, where the client showed a huge bed frame. It couldn't be carried out in one piece. Hence, it was taken apart into rails and a headboard before it left the house. Artem assisted me in carrying it out from the bedroom, curving past the entry path, right to the truck. The rails went into the truck first and were stacked near the liftgate, while all other parts had their own separate space.

Artem came back right away for the mattress. It had already been shrink-wrapped by the client, then it was carried out on its edge rather than moving it out flat.

The loveseat was at the corner of the hall. I wrapped it in the moving blanket and carried it out on the moving dolly; the front door was wide enough to allow us to fit the loveseat through.

He also brought out a wooden chair on his second run. It was wrapped in a moving blanket and shrink-wrapped over the blanket to hold it steadily. The client already had much-needed additional packing materials and supplies. It sealed the deal. I moved two nightstands and a dresser out on a moving dolly, loaded them, and stored them at the corner of the truck. Wardrobe clothing cartons went last. The client had sorted them out for us ahead of time. We moved them out on a moving dolly, two to three at a time.

Once everything was strapped and loaded, we put the cones back and drove away to Vantage Avenue.

Vantage Avenue Drop-off

Vantage Avenue was a tree-lined narrow street with a lot of one-story houses. The client confirmed that we could legally park at the curb as close as possible to the drop-off front door. The load was light, and the street allowed us to move everything in right from the curb.

The bed frame went first, right to the bedroom where the client pointed. The rails and the headboard were reassembled right there. The mattress went last, as soon as everything had been sorted out with the bed and the frame had been set.

Artem brought in the wooden chair and the dresser right to the client's pre-arranged place. Then we moved the loveseat and two nightstands right to the hall, as the client pointed out the exact place. The wardrobe clothing cartons came in last and were stored room by room.

We checked with the client whether all items were unloaded and sorted them room by room. The client confirmed and was pleased with the way we handled the move.
