Adept Moving is a California-licensed moving company (license MTR0190206) that has served Santa Clarita since 1998, rated 5.0 on Google across over 2,000 reviews. We work out of 5028 Vineland Avenue in North Hollywood, and Santa Clarita moves have been part of our Los Angeles service since 1998. That's a long time. Long enough to learn how this valley really works. Santa Clarita isn't one place. It's a handful of communities stitched together: Valencia on the west end, Canyon Country out east, Newhall down south, Saugus up north, plus Stevenson Ranch and the Castaic-adjacent tracts. Each one moves a little differently. We've loaded master-planned homes off McBean Parkway, worked older streets in Old Town Newhall, and crawled up hillside driveways out by Sand Canyon. The 5 and the 14 back up hard at rush hour, so we plan around that. Most of our crews come up over the Newhall Pass, which keeps things simple. Over the years we've earned a 5.0 on Google with over 2,000 verified reviews, and plenty of those folks live right here in the SCV.

Serving Santa Clarita from North Hollywood

Home base for us is 5028 Vineland Avenue in North Hollywood, a straight shot up the 5 and over the Newhall Pass into the Santa Clarita Valley. We cover the whole SCV. That runs from Valencia and Stevenson Ranch on the west side to Canyon Country and Sand Canyon out east, then down through Newhall and Saugus. Gated Valencia tract, older Newhall home, somewhere up a Canyon Country hillside? We know the streets, the freeways, and the HOA rules that come with each one.

What we know about moving in Santa Clarita

    Valencia and the master-planned tracts

Valencia is where most of our gated, HOA-governed work happens. These are master-planned neighborhoods with paseos, controlled gates, and association rules that decide when and how you move in. A lot of tracts off McBean Parkway or Salceda Road require a booked move-in window and gate clearance ahead of time, and some ask for a certificate of insurance on file with the management office. We coordinate around all of it. You handle the booking and the paperwork with your HOA, you tell us the window, and we build the day to fit. We've moved homes on Bloomfield Court and along McBean enough times to know that showing up without a reserved slot is how people get turned around at the gate.

Adept Moving truck on Bobwhite Circle in Santa Clarita, 91350

Older Newhall and the hillside east side

Not all of Santa Clarita is new construction. Newhall is the oldest part of the valley, and Old Town has narrow streets, tighter driveways, and homes that predate the big tract era. Head out east into Canyon Country, especially up around Sand Canyon, and you get semi-rural and hillside properties with long, steep, or narrow access where a full-size truck just won't go. So we run an 18-foot box truck as our smallest option. It's the one that fits where a 26-foot can't, like a tight cul-de-sac off Dune Lane or a hillside drive that switchbacks up the slope. We size the truck to the access, not the other way around.

Adept Moving truck on Bobwhite Circle in Santa Clarita, 91350

The freeways, the heat, and timing your move

Two freeways feed the valley, the 5 and the 14, and both back up hard during commute hours. The I-5/14 interchange at the Newhall Pass is one of the most congested stretches in the region, and arterials like Bouquet Canyon, Soledad Canyon, and Sierra Highway clog right along with it. We factor that into the schedule so your crew isn't sitting in traffic on the clock. Summer here runs hot too, hotter than down in the basin, so for July and August moves we like early starts to beat the afternoon heat. Late spring and summer is peak season, lined up with the William S. Hart, Saugus, and Newhall school calendars. The earlier you lock a date, the better your options.

    Why Santa Clarita picks Adept

Licensed, insured, and doing SCV moves since 1998. Here's what you get with us.

    5.0 rating, over 2,000 reviews

We hold a 5.0 on Google with over 2,000 verified reviews, plus a 5.0 on Yelp across 2,900-plus. That's not marketing. That's real customers, and a lot of them live right here in the SCV.

    Straightforward $99/hr

Our rate starts at $99/hr cash for a two-mover crew, with regular cargo insurance included. No fuel surcharge, no hidden fees. The truck fee is separate, and it's spelled out in your written quote.

    Licensed and verified

We're California-licensed under CA BHGS MTR0190206, and we carry a BBB A+ rating. Since 1998, that paperwork has stayed clean and current.

    A written quote first

You get a free written quote before move day, with the costs laid out. Double drive time is in there ahead of time. Never a surprise that lands after the truck shows up.

    Trucks that fit the access

Our 18-foot box truck is our smallest, made for narrow, semi-rural, and hillside spots where a 26-footer can't go. For bigger homes with open access, we bring the 26-foot standard.

    We know the valley

Valencia gates, Newhall's older streets, Sand Canyon hillsides, the 5 and 14 at rush hour. We've worked all of it since 1998, so we plan the day around how Santa Clarita actually moves.

What we move in Santa Clarita

    Local Moving in Santa Clarita

    Local Moving in Santa Clarita

Most of our SCV work is local home moves, whether you're crossing Valencia, going from Saugus to Canyon Country, or heading down into Newhall. You get a two-mover crew from $99/hr with cargo insurance included. We wrap furniture in moving blankets, lay runners to protect your floors, and bring dollies and wardrobe cartons. Got a baby grand piano, a gun safe, fine art, antiques, or a home gym? Tell us up front and we'll plan the crew and equipment for it. We size the truck to your access, an 18-foot for tight or hillside streets, a 26-foot when there's room to work.

    Commercial moves in Santa Clarita

    Commercial moves in Santa Clarita

Santa Clarita runs on its business parks, from the Valencia Industrial Center to the offices near Princess Cruises and Boston Scientific. We move offices, suites, and small commercial spaces with the same $99-an-hour crew and a plan built around your building. A standard general-liability COI is included for commercial jobs. Need custom additional-insured wording for your property manager? We quote that separately. You handle the building's loading-dock booking, elevator reservation, and any COI requirements with management, and we coordinate the timing so your downtime stays short.

Packing and unpacking in Santa Clarita

Packing and unpacking in Santa Clarita

Want a hand with the boxes? We pack and unpack at our hourly rate, and you decide how much we handle, the whole house or just the kitchen and the fragile stuff. Packing materials and supplies are billed separately from the labor, so you only pay for what we actually use. It isn't a flat quote, and it isn't bundled into the $99 rate. It's hands-on hourly help. We come with moving blankets, dollies, and wardrobe cartons, and we'll wrap your furniture and protect your floors along the way.

What to know before your Santa Clarita move

A few local details that make move day go smoother in the SCV.

    Street permits and no-parking rules

    Street permits and no-parking rules

If the truck needs to sit on a public street where parking's tight, the City of Santa Clarita handles temporary no-parking and oversize-vehicle parking through Public Works. An oversize-vehicle permit is good for a limited stretch, so it's worth sorting a few days ahead. The City's parking line is (661) 286-4166 if you need to confirm what your block requires. Applying for the permit is the customer's job, but tell us where the truck can legally stage and we'll plan the carry around it. On a narrow Newhall street or a packed cul-de-sac, a reserved curb spot saves real time on move day.

Commercial and Valencia Industrial Center access

Commercial and Valencia Industrial Center access

Moving an office in or out of the Valencia Industrial Center or one of the business parks usually means coordinating with building management first. Loading docks, freight elevators, and after-hours access often need to be booked, and many buildings want a certificate of insurance on file before they let a crew in. Booking the dock and elevator and sorting the COI requirements is the customer's job, and we'll coordinate the timing once you've locked it down. A standard general-liability COI comes included for commercial work. Need custom additional-insured wording for your property manager? We quote that part separately so there's no confusion.

HOA move-in windows and gated tracts

HOA move-in windows and gated tracts

This is the big one in Santa Clarita. So much of Valencia, plus newer parts of Saugus and Canyon Country, sits inside master-planned HOAs, and a lot of them require a booked move-in window and gate clearance before anyone rolls in. Some associations also want a certificate of insurance on file with the management office. Booking that move-in window, clearing the gate, and handling the COI requirement is the customer's job, since only you can deal with your HOA. Give us the window once it's set and we'll build the whole day around it. Showing up to a gated tract without a reserved slot is how moves get turned away at the entrance, so lock it early.

Sand Canyon, hillsides, and older Newhall homes

Sand Canyon, hillsides, and older Newhall homes

Out by Sand Canyon and across the east side of Canyon Country, you get semi-rural and hillside properties with long, steep, or narrow driveways where a big truck simply can't reach the door. Old Town Newhall has the opposite problem: tight historic streets and narrow drives. For both, our 18-foot box truck is the smallest we run, and it's the one that fits where a 26-foot won't, like a hillside drive off Dune Lane or a snug Newhall cul-de-sac. Tell us about the access when you call. Gate widths, slope, low branches, how close we can park, and we'll bring the right truck and plan the carry so nothing gets dragged farther than it has to.

Best days, times, and summer heat

Best days, times, and summer heat

The 5 and the 14 both crawl during commute hours, and the Newhall Pass interchange is one of the worst stretches around, so we like to time the drive to dodge the heaviest traffic on Bouquet Canyon, Soledad Canyon, and Sierra Highway. Summer in the SCV runs hot, hotter than the basin, so for July and August we push for early starts to stay ahead of the afternoon heat. Summer's also peak season, lined up with the William S. Hart, Saugus, and Newhall school calendars, so weekends and month-ends book up fast. The earlier you call, the more your pick of dates.

Max & Alex are the best movers. They showed up exactly on time and brought any supplies that you may need. They took a lot of care with all my belongings and were super helpful packing up boxes. They took apart my king bed and reassembled it perfectly. They even fixed a loose bolt leaving the bed in better condition than when they arrived. Not a scratch or a ding on anything!...

Not gonna lie after all the quotes I got I was a little skeptical with how affordable their rate was (but I was desperate to save some money haha). But they were amazing! Vladimir and Alik were my 2 men and they handled everything carefully and delicately and like they’ve been doing it forever. They’ve got it down to a science. Nothing damaged or scratched or scuffed or anything and very helpful and communicative. Will def be using them if I ever need to move here again.

After our first movers could not finish the job, I contacted Adept and they fit us in at a very busy time. Our two movers were hardworking and funny and really took care of our belongings. Their rate was much less than our first movers, who did not take great care of our things. I highly recommend Adept Movers.

Adept Moving truck on Mcbean Parkway in Santa Clarita, 91355

    Valencia gated tract, McBean Parkway

A family off McBean Parkway in Valencia moved into a gated tract with a strict HOA move-in window. They booked the slot and cleared the gate ahead of time, then handed us the window, and we built the day around it. Access was open, so we came in with the 26-foot truck, wrapped everything in moving blankets, and laid runners through the paseo entry. The home gym got its own plan. We finished inside the reserved window with time to spare, no gate holdups.

    June 2026
Adept Moving truck on Dune Lane in Santa Clarita, 91387

    Sand Canyon hillside, Dune Lane

A move out near Dune Lane in the Sand Canyon area meant a long hillside driveway, too narrow and steep for a full-size truck. We brought the 18-foot box truck, the smallest we run, and it fit where a 26-foot never would have. The crew carried down a sectional and a couple of dressers along a sloped path, all wrapped and padded, with runners down inside. We'd asked about the access on the call, so we showed up ready for the slope instead of figuring it out on the spot.

    May 2026
Adept Moving truck on Orange Blossom Drive in Santa Clarita, 91322

    Old Town Newhall, narrow street

An older home near Old Town Newhall on Orange Blossom Drive had a tight street and a snug driveway, classic for that part of the valley. Parking was limited, so the customer sorted a curb spot ahead of time and we staged the truck there. The crew wrapped the furniture, laid runners over the older floors, and handled a heavy dresser and a bed frame down the narrow entry. We worked the carry path to keep the distance short. Done in a single trip, no scuffs, no street drama.

    Santa Clarita Moving FAQs

    Santa Clarita-specific questions

We work with them all the time. A lot of Valencia tracts, plus newer parts of Saugus and Canyon Country, require a booked move-in window and gate clearance, and some want a certificate of insurance on file with the management office. Booking that window, clearing the gate, and handling the COI requirement is your job, since only you can deal with your own HOA. Once it's set, give us the window and we'll build the whole move around it so the crew's in and out without any holdups at the gate.

Our rate starts at $99/hr cash for a two-mover crew, with regular cargo insurance included. The truck fee is separate, and there's no fuel surcharge and no hidden fees. Double drive time applies, and it's written into your quote before move day, never tied to how far our crew drives to reach you. You get a free written quote up front with everything laid out, so you know what you're looking at before we start.

Yes. Sand Canyon and the east side of Canyon Country have plenty of long, steep, or narrow driveways where a full-size truck can't reach the door. That's exactly why we run an 18-foot box truck as our smallest option, it fits where a 26-foot won't. Tell us about the access when you call, the slope, the gate width, any low branches, how close we can park, and we'll bring the right truck and plan the carry so your stuff isn't dragged farther than it needs to be.

We don't book same-day moves. Doing a Santa Clarita move right means lining up the crew, sizing the truck to your access, and planning around freeway traffic and any HOA move-in windows or street permits, and that takes a little lead time. The earlier you call, the better your pick of dates, especially in summer when the SCV school calendars push everyone to move at once and weekends book up fast. Reach out as soon as you have a date in mind and we'll get you on the schedule.

We can. We pack and unpack at our hourly rate, and you decide how much we handle, the whole house or just the fragile and awkward stuff. Packing materials and supplies are billed separately from the labor, so you only pay for what we actually use. It isn't a flat quote, and it isn't folded into the $99 rate. It's hands-on hourly help. We bring boxes, packing paper, bubble wrap, and wardrobe cartons, and we'll wrap your furniture and lay runners to protect your floors as we go.

Yes. We're licensed by the California Bureau of Household Goods and Services, license number MTR0190206, and BBB-accredited with an A+ rating. Regular cargo insurance is included on every move at no extra charge. For commercial moves, a standard COI with general liability is included; custom additional-insured wording is quoted separately.

    General questions

It's hourly, starting at $99/hr for a two-mover crew, cash, with regular cargo insurance included. The truck fee is billed separately. Double drive time applies and is advised on the moving quote. No fuel surcharge, no hidden fees. We put the hourly rate in writing before you book, so there's nothing to guess at on the day.

A clean 5.0 on Google across more than 2,000 reviews comes down to a few habits: a clear written quote before you book, uniformed and background-checked crews, regular cargo insurance on every job, and no pressure afterward. Plenty of movers chase volume. We'd rather earn the next job by referral, and the reviews are what come out of that.

For a mid-week, mid-month date, a week's notice is usually plenty. Weekends, the end of the month, and the summer stretch from June through August fill up faster, so give it two to three weeks if you can. We don't currently offer same-day moves, so it's worth getting on the calendar early either way.

Life happens. Reach out as early as you can and we'll work with you to find the next open slot that fits. The sooner you let us know, the easier it is to move the crew around.
