We are based roughly 4 miles south of Downtown Burbank, on Vineland Avenue in North Hollywood. We regularly serve Burbank neighborhoods from Magnolia Park and the Rancho District to the hills above Glenoaks, since we can reach Hollywood Way within 15 minutes. You can call or text us 7 days a week, support line works from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Our movers are available every day whenever the slots are open, so make sure to book early.
A lot of moving here ties back to the studios. We move editors, animators, and crew folks who want a short ride to Warner Bros, Disney, or the Burbank Studios. All of our office moves come with a standard certificate of insurance with general liability (COI). In cases when the building needs custom additional-insured wording, we quote it separately, so we ask you to send us their requirements early. We move plenty of families chasing the schools and the small-town feel too. There is a steady flow of people trading a Downtown apartment for a house with a yard in Magnolia Park, and retirees downsizing out of the bigger Rancho lots. There are frequently narrow doorways and original floors in the older buildings. We lay floor runners to protect the floors, wrap the furniture in moving blankets, and take apart anything too wide for a doorway such as: sectional sofas, bed frames, wooden tables, and other oversized furniture, before it goes out.
We have been helping people move for over 28 years in this area, so we know the nuances of mature trees when driving to Toluca Lake, as well as narrow streets and traffic around Riverside Drive. Magnolia Park has lots of narrow driveways, tight curb cuts. In Magnolia Boulevard there are tree-lined streets, where a large truck may not always fit. Many mid-rise apartments as well as condos with elevators and loading areas are located Downtown and on San Fernando Boulevard. Above Glenoaks, up in the Burbank Hills, the streets start to pitch and twist. The areas that have long private drives are Rancho District near the Equestrian Center, where we frequently help elderly customers downsize from larger properties. If you live above Glenoaks and not sure if a truck would be able to reach your door, we recommend walking the route yourself before move day. This way you will know whether the truck fits, the turnaround and other important small details, like how far the crew will need to carry everything. If your house does not have a driveway, you might need a street parking permit to park the moving truck close enough to your property. You can arrange it with the City of Burbank beforehand. We will time our arrival to the window that you get. We ask our clients to check with the city early, since the rules depend on the block you live in. Tell us the street, the floor and other access nuances in advance. That way we will be able to bring the truck that actually fits: our 18-foot box truck is the smallest we run, and it is what we send when a 26-foot truck just can't make the turn.
At a Downtown condo or a Media District building, customers usually need an elevator reserved and a loading dock booked. We ask our clients to book those with building management or HOA. We will plan our arrival around that window once you've got it. That way the moving team will be at the right time at the right place and will have access to the elevator when the move begins. If the customer is moving in or out of a studio, we ask them to handle site access approval, and then our moving team follows the approved entry time. It is easier to work at apartment and condo buildings during weekdays, since the buildings are generally quiet. The front desk in a building that is located in the Media District or at Downtown condo may require an elevator reservation and a designated loading area. We ask our customers to manage that in advance. Our weekend slots fill up faster and usually the best availability is mid-week and around the middle of the month. We need to know the inventory size, whether there's an elevator, any oversized or fragile items like a gun safe, large or bulky furniture pieces, including heavy cabinets and dining tables. Crew size comes from what you tell us: the inventory, the floor, and anything oversized. We will confirm the team and the truck size, as soon as you provide those details.
We hold a 5.0 on Google across over 2,000 verified reviews, as well as 5.0 on Yelp with 2,500-plus. You can find those reviews online. Our customers write about our transparent pricing and professional furniture handling.
Our rate is from $99 per hour for a two-mover crew, cash. Regular cargo insurance is included, the truck fee's separate, and there's no fuel surcharge. Every client gets a written quote where we explain the pricing clearly.
The rate, the truck fee, and anything billed separately is laid out in your written quote. Double drive time only applies on some moves. It depends on the distance between you and your destination. The drive counts double on the same hourly clock when double drive time applies. No fuel surcharge, no hidden fees.
We're California-licensed, MTR0190206, with an A+ rating at the BBB. Our moving team handles different types of moves as well as packing and unpacking, and specialty items.
Our 18-foot box truck is the smallest we run. We use it for narrow streets, tight driveways, and hillside turns throughout Burbank. It is the right choice for narrow streets in Burbank Hills, Magnolia Park, and Glenoaks Boulevard. The 26-foot is our standard and we use it for bigger loads.
Adept Moving has served residents and local businesses in Burbank since 1998 out of North Hollywood, about 3 miles from Downtown Burbank. We work regularly in neighborhoods such as Magnolia Park, Downtown Burbank, Rancho District, Burbank Hills, the Media District.
We regularly move families in Magnolia Park, as this area is known for its bungalow-style houses and single-family homes. Downtown has more apartment complexes and condos. Private houses, condos, and apartments are mixed together in the Media District. On each of our moves we bring runners to lay on your floors, wrap furniture in moving blankets, and use dollies and wardrobe cartons. Do you want to move something large like a gun safe, fine art, antiques, or a treadmill? Inform us upfront, so we plan accordingly. If double drive time applies on the drive between your pickup and drop-off, it is written into the quote before move day.
We handle business moves all across Downtown, the Media District, and the San Fernando Boulevard corridor.
We relocate offices and small businesses. We regularly transport office equipment such as desks, cabinets, conference setups, etc. Some commercial buildings may ask for a certificate of insurance, and we provide a standard general-liability COI for commercial jobs. In cases you need custom additional-insured wording, we quote that separately. Our customers organize the elevator reservation, dock booking, and we coordinate the timing to make sure the move stays within your window.
Our crew packs and unpacks at the hourly rate: starting from $99/hr for 2 Movers. For all of our customers we bring moving blankets, dollies, and wardrobe cartons, and we can do a full pack or just the kitchen and the breakables. Packing labor is billed by the same hour rate starting from $99 an hour for a 2-mover team, not at a flat rate. Packing materials such as single-use boxes, packing paper, bubble wrap, tape, plastic wrap, are billed separately. You will pay only for the disposable packing materials we actually use. To learn more about this service, read our packing and unpacking page.
We work out the crew size and choose the truck depending on the information that we get from the client. Before every move we provide a written quote, where all the details regarding pricing are clearly spelled out. The number of hours required for the move is the key factor that shaped the total price. In cities like Burbank everything comes down to access: the floor number, whether your building has an elevator, where the truck can stop, and how much you're moving.

We have helped with different types of moves and gathered some local details and common pitfalls.
A temporary no-parking permit might save you both time and money on moving day. You will need to arrange it, if your street is tight or you need to park the truck at a curb for a long time.
Once you have that permit, send us its date, hours and curb location. Public Works Street Use Permit desk is the organization that helps people in Burbank with those. Their phone is (818) 238-3950 and you can call them to ask about a temporary no-parking permit for a moving truck. Our clients handle the permit, application, and any required posting. We are ready to explain what would be a good spot for a truck, so you can request the right place. It might take some time, but on the older residential blocks and off Magnolia Boulevard a posted no-parking zone can allow us to pull right up to your door and save you a 30-foot carry distance. The counter is open weekdays, their working hours are 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a lunch hour, and they close at 3 p.m. on Fridays. This application needs to be done in advance. They are located at 150 North Third Street, and booking an appointment is encouraged. Another reason why a weekday move is simpler on a block with no driveway is that street use permits run up to five days, Monday through Friday, and Saturday and Sunday use is reviewed case by case.
Keep in mind that it is banned to park within 20 feet of the approach to a crosswalk. Even where the curb is not painted red, the city considers any corner with a curb ramp or a stop sign as a crosswalk. A corner house can lose the curb out front, so tell us if you're on one. We also recommend checking your block's street-sweeping sign. Let us know the scheduled day. We need this information, since street sweeping runs Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and we won't be able to park during that window.
Usually when people move into or out of an office, they find out that the building or lot has its own rules. It is true for offices near Warner Bros, Disney, or the Burbank Studios. Adept moving can't arrange it on your behalf, so it's the tenant's task to clear the drive-on or vendor pass through the lot. Our clients often have to reserve an elevator, book a loading dock, and prepare a certificate of insurance, especially when moving in and out in the Media District. We ask you to handle the reservations and the building's COI requirements, and we coordinate to that schedule and provide a standard general-liability COI for commercial jobs. If custom additional-insured wording is needed, we quote it separately, so we ask to inform us about any special requirements early. It is a common practice for Media District buildings to only allow commercial moves off-hours, so weekdays 6 PM-6 AM, or sometimes all day on weekends. Usually the elevator slots fill during February pilot season as well as May-July production, so we ask you to reserve these 2-3 weeks in advance.
Up in the Burbank Hills above Glenoaks, the streets get steep, narrow, and curvy, and a 26-foot truck can't always make the turns or sit safely on a grade. For example, this truck often is not able to reach addresses above Sunset Canyon Drive or in the Castaway Cove area. Sometimes hillside driveways are too steep for our liftgate, which is one of the reasons we recommend the client to walk the route before move day. In such cases we use our 18-foot box truck. It is the smallest we run and fits where the big one won't. If you are moving a large load, we might need to make a second trip. But this is certainly better than parking a few blocks down and carrying everything uphill by hand. If you tell us the address and roughly about the furniture and items you're moving, we will be able to choose the right truck before move day so the crew shows up in time and doesn't spend time on a tight hillside drive. There are some areas in the Verdugo foothills that are identified as a Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone by the Burbank Fire Department. There, parking is difficult because of steep slopes and limited access. We might have to find a legal place to park elsewhere, since these streets must remain passable.
There is a mix of newer and older housing in Burbank. On streets like Magnolia Park and on some blocks near Verdugo Avenue there are lots of 1930s and 1940s homes that have small driveways, narrow doorways and tight stairwells. There it will be harder to relocate a large sectional or some other bulky furniture. In other areas like the San Fernando Boulevard corridor and Downtown, mid-rise condos and apartments with shared elevators and loading zones are located. If your building has an elevator, plan to reserve it for the moving day, and we will plan around the time slot that you get. We ask you to measure the narrowest doorway and the stair turn, so we can understand whether your furniture will fit through the available space and plan the move accordingly. Either way, we lay runners on the floors and wrap furniture in moving blankets to protect the trim and the corners.
School schedules shaped how families with kids move in Burbank. Usually weekend windows fill up faster than workdays. Many families tend to move between late May and August, since Burbank Unified's 2026-27 school starts from August 13, 2026, and ends around May 27, 2027. Spring break is going to be from March 22 to 26, 2027. The 5 and the 134 are where all the traffic is located, and both fill up at rush hour. We recommend starting your move mid-morning, after the early crush clears. That way the drive between locations is short and the hourly clock is honest. At apartments and condos the weekdays are quieter. It is also easier to book elevators and loading zones midweek than on a Sunday. If you live in a building that requires you to reserve an elevator or a dock window, in most cases that means you will need to choose a weekly slot anyway. When we will be putting your quote together, we will talk about this timing and make sure that our arrival time matches your access.
